Vitamin B-12 May Prevent Birth Defects
Women of childbearing age (especially those who are pregnant or trying to conceive) are advised to eat 400 mg of folic acid (folate) daily to prevent neural tube defects, such as spina bifida, from occurring in their babies. New research shows that vitamin B12 may also play a role.

I'm Tricia and I'm an older mom, 42 with a 20 month old. I also have kids in high school, middle school, and elementary. I'm pretty active on sparkpeople but I'm trying to transition to maintenance after losing 40 pounds, and still breastfeeding, trying to keep it all in balance. So, yeah!

I get to be home with the baby so that's awesome.

Hello,

I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly or not. I'm a full time working mom, started my own business so hopefully someday I can join my family at home full time. My husband stays home with our girls 9 and 8 weeks. I'm looking to have some people to chat with about the joys of a preteen girl. My 9 year old is mine from a previous marriage so that adds a whole new twist to my parenting.

Hi there,

Just joined.
SAHM with 3 + 2 kids (3 of 'ours', 2of 'his').
I am also hoping that I am pregnant - we'll find out in 2 weeks!
Not for us tho - our family is complete. I had 2 embryos transferred by IVF this past Friday. It is for an infertile couple ... Their bun(s), my oven.

Looking for support in raising a 12 year old girl. She is good, but I need impartial opinions at times to check in with!

Hello, I am new to this site and thought this would be a good place to start. I am pregnant with my 5th child (6th counting step-daughter). My other children are 19, 17, 16, 14 (step), and 3. As you can see there is a big age gap, this is my second marriage (my first husband died 14 yrs ago) and our second child together. Life can be hectic and loud at our house - LOL; with school, work, daycare, and everything else in between.

Hello everyone! I guess I am starting over againwith my boyfriend of the last 10 years as we are just 6 weeks preggo! I also have a wonderful 14 yo teen who just in the beginning of this year is spending it with his dad from my previous marriage! As anxious as it makes me, I am also happy to hear he's having a blast but confuzzuled at having no control over school work, activities, and friends... We are hoping to move out to be closer to him if work allows as it's taken us all over the USA in the last three years which is why my son chose his dads this year:( my sons reaction was a negative on how noisy it will be but he also has a 1 year ol step sister on his dads side he adores... I hope he loves his new sibling too:)! It a trying time but I am crossing my fingers this transition goes smoothly with my teen because he's the world to me! Well, hello;)

Possibly, naming baby Beckley (gender unspecified)..

Hello all, my name is Jamie. I have 4 children and have been married for almost 10 years. I currently stay home with the kids but have plans to return to school next fall. My oldest is going to be 13 in March. She is a pretty good kid, way better than I ever was as a teen.

We are very active in our church and 4h. This means we are very busy. We love to camp and do anything that is outdoors.

I am really trying to lose all the extra weight I have because I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy and I am at a high risk to get it latter in life since I am over weight. I look forward to this journey.

Hi, I'm Amber and am raising a 10 year old going on 22. Shes a fabulous child most of the time, very helpful with the littler kids... when she wants to be. Unfortunately she has hit the lazy stage of life and will ignore any chore to the max if she can (aahh to be young again lol), she may spend the rest of her life grounded ;o)

I just had bub #4, eldest boy just turned 12, daughter 8, another boy 4 and the newest addition is a boy also. We're in the middle of renovating to accommodate us all.
Needless to say the house is CRAZY at the moment and I am finding the child that gets spoken to the most is the 12yr old AARGH - so thought I would join a group of wonderful women who are all going through a similar thing in the hope that my sanity (at least) will survive ;S

Hi, my name is Jenny and I am 32y. I am the mother of 2 beautiful (but onry) daughters and recently was surprised to find out I am expecting another baby due in January. My oldest daughter will be 13y nest month and is an emotional mess which can be extremely stressful. I am glad I am not a teenager these days because it seems much harder then when I was 13.

Hi my name is Sara. I am married and have 5 children. My girls are ages 12, 11, and 2. My boys are ages 6 and 10 1/2 months old. My oldes two girls are the hardest out of all the kids. I knew that teenagers were hard to deal with, but nobody ever warned me that they could be worst than a room full of screaming babies and toddlers. Help!! lol.

Hi, everyone I'm Laura, I'm a 33 yr old working mom. (That cracks me up like moms who stay home don't work as hard as me.HAHAHAHA) I have 2 children; 13 yr old girl and 12 yr old boy and I found out a week ago that I'm pregnant again. OMG. It's an exciting time of change in our lives. We haven't told our older kids yet. I want to make sure my pregnancy is okay before I let them in on it. I lost a baby about 6 yrs ago so I'm paranoid. Thats me

Hello I'm new to this team but not to being a mom. I have a 10 yr. old (she'll be 11 April 25), a 7 yr old (he just turned 7 Aug. 20), a 3 yr. old (she'll be 4 in Dec. 29) and a 6wk old (she was born 8/13/08). So as you can see my hands are full. I can't complain though I love every minute of being a mommy.
