I met my DH when I was 19 and he was 23 at a mutual friend's house. It was love at first sight for him, but I didn't pay much attention to him since I never thought a guy that good looking would like me.
We started dating a few weeks later. 7 long and wonderful years later he proposed, and we got married in June 2011.
He's my best friend and we're happier every day.

Its an old question, but I'm new to the group so I'm going to answer it too : )

I was 16 and dating my first real boyfried. One night we decided to rent a movie and watch it with a friend of his (I still remember the movie was Blair Witch 2). The friend of his I had never met, but by reputation I knew he was the 'bad boy' at their school (we went to different schools).

The 'friend' and I immediately hit it off, although I would have NEVER dated this guy in high school! He was the kid that always came to school stoned and I was the girl with a 4.0 and in all the advanced classes. I dated the boyfried on and off for 2 years, mean while the 'friend' and I became really good friends, much to the annoyance of the boyfriend. After I broke-up with the boyfriend for good, the 'friend' and I started dating, much too soon per the opinion of our mutual friends. Aparently 3 weeks isn't an appropriate time to wait before hooking up with your ex's best friend...

Maybe that was poor judgement on my part, but we have been together ever since. This fall we will have been married 6 years and next spring we will have been together 10 years.

I know this is an old question, but I'm still going to answer it...

My hubby and I actually met in 8th grade when he threw an ice ball at me (we are from Wisconsin). A few years later, after talking via aol :-), we decided to try it out... we were 15 and had to ask his sister's permission first (I was friends with her first). After working through college, long distance dating, and finally a 3 year engagement we finally got married in 2010. This summer will be our 10 year dating anniversary (yea we are lame and still celebrate that) and then this fall will be our real 2 year anniversary.

We are hoping to have a baby bump by our anniversary, but only time will tell. :-)

The DH and I are high school sweethearts (now 25), and are extremely excited to announce that we are expecting baby #1 March 2013!!

I was 19 and had never had a serious boyfriend before. I had a lot of guys that I was friends with, that I hung out with, but it just never all fit. And then this guy came with my friends boyfriend, and gave me instant goosebumps. I got major butterflies sitting at the table well he showed me his sketches, and then later curling up talking to him all night. We stayed up the entire night talking, and have talked every night since then. His excate words at the end of the night was "Can I kiss you?" which I said yes, and then he asked (which I tease him this was a little out of order lol) "Do you have a boyfriend?" and when I said no, it went from there.
He lived about an two and half hours away though, so there was a lot of late night phone calls, lenghty emails, long MSN chats, and weekend visits. Which between the snowstorms, his 1986 broken down truck, my full time job and college, my parents, and flying partiages (lol TWICE broke his windshield, once in a snowstorm on Boxing Day :P lol) it wasn't always easy but we did it, and it was all easily worth it .
About a year after that, I moved to Cape Breton to be with him. It was some ups and downs but we made it through them holding hands the whole way
We moved back to New Glasgow where I'm from two years later, and lots of new adventures, but nothing changed as far as far as how much in love we are. Every step we took was together, supporting one another, and never letting go of the others hand.
On April 21st, 2007 we went out to my parents that morning where Jesse got my fathers blessing to marry me, and showed my grandmother the ring and got her blessing as well (knowing how speical my grandmother is to me), and at 6pm that night, he got down on one knee and proposed. It was the sweetest thing, he set up the camera on the bookcase, said he had it on timer, but truthfully it was on video setting, so I'm just smiling at the camera and all of a sudden he gave me a kiss, told me he loved me, and got down on one knee and with a very sweet speech about how much I mean to him, asked me to marry him. So not only is it the perfect memory I can hold onto forever, but I will have a video of it forever as well.
On June 28th, 2008 I got to marry the love of my life. And our wedding was beauitful, it was perfect. Neither one of us was the least bit nervous, no cold feet, or wedding jitters. We had all our family and friends there, and we just had fun. It was a great day, and we fished in our wedding dress, and tux lol. And just had fun, enjoyed it, savoured the day with all our friends and family there. And our honeymoon was spent in my favourite childhood vacation spot, and to this day I've never had such a great vacation!
Since our wedding we got a house, have lost, and gained new jobs, I graduated from college with a degree in Early Childhood Education, filled our house with wonderful pets, and have been there for each other through a lot of ups and downs for 7 years.
We've always wanted kids but this summer we decided it was the right time to bring a baby into our family, and so hopefully we're hoping that we'll be able to have a little piece of us to love soon.
I've spent everyday talking to him for the last 7 years.
Not to sound majorly sappy, but he really is my my hero, my angel, my best friend, and my soulmate. Hes my whole world, and I am so grateful and feel so lucky to have him as my partner for life.

We met over four years ago and were dating but nothingvery serious. Then we went iceskating with some friends and I fell and injured my leg... BADLY! After that we found we were spending alot more time together because I was out of work for over two months. We just grew closer and pretty fast. We knew we wanted to be together forever so three months after my injury we decided we wanted to get married and got married four months later. We could not be happier. We have faced some real tests and have only come out stronger in the end. Hes my best friend and we can't wait to grow our family and share our love with our little ones. :)

I can only imagine how hard that must have been - but it is wonderful that it built your relationship into a stronger and more wonderful one:)

Oh boy...this is my favorite story of all time! I'll try to shorten it up!

It was May of 2005 and my spring semester was almost finished...after finals, a few friends of mine were heading up to a bar to celebrate another semester that was over! I NEVER went out - they would go out frequently after our night class but I worked at a daycare center that was open until 3:00 a.m. for parents that worked late shifts. I told them that if I got out of work early that night, I would come (something that never happens!). I got out at 11:00 and decided to meet them all out - which is where I met my hubby Ed - he was the bartender.

I was in a long term relationship (that was on the outs) and was not in the mood to be meeting anyone new. My boyfriend of 6 years and I were constantly arguing and were basically braking up. Ed at the time was scheduled to move to Florida in a month and wasn't looking to meet anyone to tie him to Ohio either. We ended up talking and talking and talking that night. Each week I would go out with my friends up to his bar and we would just talk and I would fall more and more hopelessly in love with him.

He kept asking me out (by this time I was officially single) and I kept telling him no because he was leaving soon. So, he left to go to Florida for the weekend to sign his lease on his apartment and get paperwork done for his new police job and I was so sad. He came home from his trip and called me and asked me to go on a date with him that night. Again I told him no. He said to me, "What if I told you that I am not leaving? Then would you go out with me?" I said "WHAT????" He then told me that he turned down the job when he went down there for a chance to be able to take me on a date.

So, we have been head over heels in love ever since! We were engaged 8 months later, and then married October 7, 2006 - just a year and a half after we first met!
