We have high hopes for: a home birth without interventions, cloth diapering, baby wearing, cloth wipes (vs. disposable), breastfeeding, and homemade baby food. I'm also trying to change some of our life choices as well. Our goal summed up: simplify.

In all this, we certainly make compromises. :) I'm sure we'll experience the same when baby comes along! Thanks for the tips and encouragement!

I think the level of holistic living for each person changes throughout life. There are times we're more driven, and times we can afford to do it more than others. But I think it's great to do what we can:)

My youngest weaned at 31 months. (I was pregnant, so didn't mind. But when I lost the baby, I was really upset.) I homeschool, use natural products, cosleep, cloth diapers, wear my baby, attachment parent, don't vaccinate, and love God, my husband of over 19 years, and my kids!

Hi Sarah,
My name is Jamie and I live in Lancaster, PA.
Where are you living? What does holistic living mean to you? We are trying to live more naturally and simply but we have a long way to go. It is great that you are thinking about your values and how you want to raise your LO before he/she arrives. I am so excited for you. What a sweet and special time it is preparing for the arrival of that first baby. Be gentle with yourself and don't let ideals and striving for the "perfect" holistic life rob you of the simple wonder of the beginning years of motherhood. I did a lot of striving in the beginning and now I wish I would have just been fully present each moment enjoying the time where I could just focus on one baby/child. You are blessed! Enjoy every single moment.

I just found this site today. I am married to a wonderful man and I have 4 children. My youngest just turned 3 months and I am ready to get our nutrition back in the right place so we can all be thriving and not just surviving! :) We learn together at home as a family so I need to be prepared to feed everyone meals and snacks each day as well as nurse my little one. I hope to find inspiration and motivation here.
