Joann's Fabric has all the supplies you need in their store and it isn't to expensive. You should check out their store or website.

My mom made some homemade ones for my first. We ordered some PUL film online and she added it inside. They worked well for a short time, but after a bit if I didn't get him changed quick it would leak at the legs, but it might be because he was a heavy wetter. You can find lots of places that sell the diaper cut material ready for you to sew too. or Check ebay.

For making your own here is a good place to get started http://www.diaperjungle.com/sewing

Also, just google making your own cloth diapers and there is a lot of information out there.

Another way to save is to buy in a co-op. I have recently joined a couple on facebook and am excited to get some diapers for only a few dollars each, cute ones that work great too. Some of the brands are Alva, Sunbaby, and Kawaii.

if your interested in checking them out just ask to join and they will approve you quick

This one just had like 3 cloth diaper Coops close, but will have more soon I'm sure. I think 1 is still open for a couple of more days.

Good luck!! hope some of this helps.

Hey everyone. I am very interested in cloth diapering my first baby who is due in January 2013. I mainly want to do this to cut down on cost. Has anyone had success with making their own cloth diapers? If so, what kind of fabric did you use? I would love any advice I can get. Thanks!
