"I Gained Fifteen Pounds in my First Trimester!"
Help! You're expected to put on some pounds during pregnancy, but what if that weight comes too fast? Read on to learn what to do if this happens to you.
VAILSMOM: How cool. I went to San Francisco State. Injuries are so frustrating, I know. I tore my ACL a few years and had it repaired (hamstring graft), but I got so depressed when I wasn't able to work out and be active like normal. Exercise is such great medicine!

Hi, Jenn! I played soccer for 18 years, and was on scholarship to Clemson University when a girl kicked me and broke my shin. It's never been the same since, but I still love to play. I haven't been running since my first pregnancy, because I was breastfeeding Vail and it was extremely uncomfortable to run with engorgement going on.
I love some of the choices for prenatel aerobics and yoga out there. I am currently weight training and doing aerobics. I might work in the yoga, later. Right now, I am just trying to stay on top of this and my toddler. I would love to swim. Might have to check out the local rec center, and see about the prenatel water aerobics classes that they have.
I'm Jenn. I'm 29 and this is my first pregnancy. I'm pretty fit and have been athletic all my life. I'm an ex-college soccer player and still play on a premier women's team. I played last Fall until the Dr. suggested not to. Can't wait to get back into it this summer. I run 5k's and did the Muddy Buddy Run with DH back in November.
I get cramps now when I run, so I've been just walking and doing some work on the stairmaster at the gym. I do some yoga and still work my upper body, but I'm getting pretty lazy at both right now. The weather has been really great the last few weekends, so I've started swimming and I love it! Feels great on my back, so I'm hoping that is going be my 3rd trimester exercise of choice!

Definately! Whatever you can muster this late in pregnancy-even if it's just walking around the block a few times-is GREAT! For you and the baby!! Just make sure to do those kegels so that you can heal more quickly in that area, and have less incontinence while you're healing.
I'm 34. I was 33 and very fit and lean when I got pregnant. I don't know if it's genetics, lifestyle or both, but so far, at week 29, I still feel good. I've had a day or two of exhaustion, but I usually bounce back. My college classes have ended, so I've also totally slacked off. I MUST workout on my own if I want to keep this good feeling. Plus I know it will help with labor.
Sometimes I walk around the neighborhood park for 20-30 minutes. My pace is so much slower than it was last summer. Do you think this is still a beneficial workout?

I would love to train for a marathon. You should go for it!!
My name is Angel and I'm 26. I rarely worked out before I got pregnant with my son in 2005 and I didn't work out during the pregnancy. I was so worried about not loosing the weight after I had him I started going to the gym when he was 5 weeks and have been going ever since. I am still going at it strong at 29 weeks. I go at least 4 times a week. I love aerobics and I still do weights just not has heavy. Just before I found out I was pregnant I started running because I want to start doing marathons but since I never got use to running I don't do it much now. I walk on the treadmill alot and will run for about 15 minutes. I can't wait to start back training.

Hi ladies!
My name is Leanne, and I am 28 years old. I have been an active participant in sports and activities throughout my life. In 2005, I became an active participant of The Firm movement, and worked my way up to exercising 5-6 days a week, and running 3-6 miles 3-5 days a week. In October 2006, I found out that I was pregnant with our first son, and that didn't stop me! I did my Firm workout throughout the first trimester, and into the second trimester. I even continued my Bellydancing! In the second trimester, I decided to try adding more Yoga and Prenatel Workouts into my routine, and thus, I was able to stave off my high BP that became inevitable in my late pregnancy with Vail. At 36 weeks, exercising became exhausting, and I didn't realize why-but I took it easy, listening to my body. At 38 weeks, I had stabbing pains in my right side and was completely swollen-despite my good dietary habits (from Weight Watchers, no less). At 39 weeks, I was Pre-Eclamptic at 9am and Eclamptic by 3pm. I believe that my Fit and Firm pregnancy is what held off the high BP that led to Vail's early arrival! It saved both of our lives to be Fit and Firm in my pregnancy-and I am hoping that it works out the same with Aspen!
Now that I am in the third trimester, I am continuing my Fit and Firm pregnancy workout, as well as walking, and weight training. I am hoping to stave off another bout with high BP. Would you like to join me in this endeavor this year??
