We are expecting baby number 2 in October. I am 9 weeks 4 days. Everything is going well so far. Saw little bean today and it was a sigh of relief. Here is my history for those who don't know. DH and I are carriers of Cystic FIbrosis. We have a 1 in 4 chance or 25% chance of baby being affected. We let our first little girl go in oct 06. i had a m/c after that in march of 07. I had a healthy baby boy in Feb 08. I had a m/c in july of 09 and here is to 2010 for a HEALTHY baby. So here I am with my fifth pregnancy and I am hoping and praying all is well. MY CVS is scheduled and then the waiting game begins. I know in my heart this baby is healthy i just can't wait to see the results on paper. I hope everyone is doing well and I will update soon.

I remember you... so happy for you that you're pregnant again. Congrats! I really hope that the CVS will b breeze and that you'll get the results v quickly and that it'll all go well.

I have a 50% chance of having a baby with Muscular Dystrophy and so far:
1 healthy son who's now 2.5 years old.
1 miscarriage at 7 weeks (last year)
Pregnancy number 3 we ended at 17.5 weeks because our baby girl would hv had the disease.

We're now trying to fall pregnant again.. I'm so scared to go through it all again but really want another child.

Kari,

Congratulations on becoming pregnant. It is such an excited time and for us ladies, full of anxiety and fear. I am hoping all the best for you and your growing LO. Such a scary time for us all. I hope we can all lend you some support when you need it.

I am waiting to go for part two of my IPS screening next week and wait for my anatomy scan on April 13th. I am trying to stay positive.

I hope time just flies for you.

Thank you ladies. It really means a lot to me to here your support. I just want to get past the next few weeks so I can start to enjoy pregnancy. My test is this friday and i should have the results in about 10 days. Last time it was exactly 10 days for CF and the other results were quicker. I can't wait to make it official on Facebook, but shhh don't say anything yet for those that i am friends with. I will update on friday ladies. Thanks again.

Well I had the CVS this past Friday and all went well. Now i just wait. I should hear back for CF the most 2 weeks. last time it was one week and a day. So I am hoping to have the results by MONDAY the 29th. I really hope anyway. I called my genetic counselor and asked if they got a direct culture and she called the lab and they did so it should be fast results. THe chromosome test should be in by this friday too. I HATE waiting. i wish i could call the lab and they can tell me something lol. BEtter yet i wish they had a test website like fedex does and they updated status.(when you package will be delivered) I am that nuts i know. Well here is too waiting.

I am doing as well as i can be. DID I SAY I HATE WAITING? Genetic Councilor called me today to tell me the chromosome testing came back all normal all 46 chromosomes and baby is healthy. just waiting on the most important this CF test. I hope and pray it is back early next week. She asked me if i wanted to know the sex and i said know want to wait on next test. So hear it to getting through the weekend and finding out EARLY next week. Pray for me. I am a wreck today. just need my answers. I hate not being in control of the situation. It really sucks.

Glad you got some good news. Waiting is horrible. Ugh.... My news came one day earlier after I snapped and called the genetics counselor. How come you didn't find out the sex?

OMG OMG OMG. Got my news today. It's a Healthy BABY. Not even a carrier. We had a 25% chance of that and we passed both of our good genes on. We are on cloud 9 right now. So Happy! Thank you all for your warm thoughts and prayers. I couldn't have done it without your support. HUSH HUSH on Facebook not sharing yet. I will keep you updated as more news comes in.

I had my AFP blood work yesterday and am waiting the results. How long did everyones blood work take? After i have my level 2 u/s at 19 weeks i think i will start feeling really good about this pregnancy. Even though i should feel good now, i just always worry. Hope everyone is doing well.

I did IPS screening so they did a blood draw plus U/S at 12 weeks then again at 15weeks 1 day. I did the second part on a Friday and got the results on a Tuesday. I called them asking them because I could not take waiting for the call anymore. The wait between a great result and the Level II was long. LONG.
