Chef Meg's Sweet Potato Tarts

Try these light and low-fat personal pies for dessert during the fall. They're a great substitute for pumpkin pie or sweet potato casserole.

NOTE: To boost the fiber, you can look for whole-wheat phyllo dough, which is available in the healthy food freezer section of many grocery stores.

I know that I am responding to this post late but I just read it and thought that I would tell you ladies that putting an ice pack or frozen rag to the left wrist (inside) and to the neck can drop a fever quickly. I would try that followed by a cool bath and the tylonol when the LO's are running a high fever.

I would love to go back to the way of thinking that only one degree is not a big deal.

I am glad to hear his fever went down.

His temp dropped and over night he did not need any. When he woke up I gave him some because it was 100.8 (armpit) and yeah I talked to my doc and she said it's only one degree! So thats good. She said he should be fine because he is eating and drinking.

i recently had this happen with my two-year-old...hers got up to 103.5. i gave her tylenol and it started to drop. i called the nurse on call and they said fever is not a concern if it responds to medication. they said you can alternate tylenol and motrin or use one or the other, just make sure you keep track of what you give when. the only time fever is a concern is if it's not responding to tylenol or motrin, or if it continues for several days and you're still fighting with it. fever isn't a bad thing since it helps rid the body of infection.

i was told armpit temp was only 1 degree higher. ?? when i checked my daughter's temp i did it with both ear thermometer and under-arm. i got the same temp both places if i added one degree to the underarm reading.

hope your son is feeling better now!

I can't let my LO have a fever of any kind. she went from a fever of 99 to well over 105 in less than 5 minutes. So for me fevers are a major thing.

Thanks I gave him Ibprofin and his temp has went down to 99.4 armpit temp so 101.4 Maybe even lower now. He is just laying down watching kid movies. He seems to be alright. I will just be giving him more fluids and go from there.

I would call the doctors office. I would be paniced about it, but that is because my LO can have febrile seizures.

Give another bath and give tylonel. Sometimes you can give tylonel and motrine at the same time.

But I would call and odn't delay

have you given him any tylonel? Some areas have a nurse help line that you can call, if you guys have one you may want to call just to ease your concerns

My 3year old son has a temp of 101.1 under his armpit. I'm conserned because it's been 45 minutes and his temp has not went down. He is kind of eating some food like a little of his cereal and some crackers. He also is drinking predalite and oj. I gave him a luke warm/cold bath and it has not went down. Yesterday I went to the hospital because my dr said I should go in because I was not feeling well and I was throughing up at 34 weeks preggo. I still feel sick but I have no fever. My son is not acting sick. I was just wondering what should I do if it does not go down.
