Vitamin B-12 May Prevent Birth Defects
Women of childbearing age (especially those who are pregnant or trying to conceive) are advised to eat 400 mg of folic acid (folate) daily to prevent neural tube defects, such as spina bifida, from occurring in their babies. New research shows that vitamin B12 may also play a role.

Hi all! My name is Theresa and I had my baby girl on January 4th. I really wanted to breastfeed and had some issues in the hospital. My little girl wasn't producing enough wet diapers after the first day and we came really close to having to leave her an extra day but the last day she pulled through with enough wet diapers and weight gain that we were able to bring her home. She is my first child so I was pretty nervous about bringing her home. We initially had to supplement with a bit of formula to make sure she was gaining weight until my milk came in. Once it did, she's been a pro ever since. She's an efficient nurser, only nursing on one side for approximately 5-10 minutes. She nurses every 2 hours, sometimes every 1 1/2. I'm very happy I stuck with it. It was hard at first and my nipples were pretty sore for a few weeks but it's been a rewarding experience that I plan on continuing until at least her 1 year birthday or perhaps longer. I may just allow her to wean herself rather than me weaning her.

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! And good for you to stick with breastfeeding. Nursing is a wonderful experience for a Mom and her child. I hope you are able to breastfeed as long as you and Khloe want.
