I am in school. The same weekend I moved into a place alone with my two girls, I started classes. I jumped right into single mommy hood and school and I worked 40 hours a week. It wasn't easy, but I started taking basics first. I taked to my counselor at school and found a job on campus. I had to apply for assistance, but it is out there for people like us who want to rise above our circumstances to become more. I eventually took a job at my kids daycare so I could be with them while I was trying to work and go to school. I thought of becoming a teacher or a dietetian. Eventually, like you, I decided that having a job that would allow me to be at home more would be the best for me and my family. I am a junior now and time has really flown by. Take advantage of services offered because I would not have made it without them. Once I made progress I collected scholarships and was able to live off of grants and my income. Time management is key and struggling to want to do homework is not easy. I remember turning in so many assignments at the very last minute they were due because I did not work on them like I was supposed to. I have decided to become a teacher and am taking my third and fourth years completely online. There is classroom observation I do at the school district I live in but it is still managable. Good luck and if you have any questions, let me know.

I am struggling with that right now. I want to go to school so badly.. But not sure what to go for. I could go for medical billing and coding which i could eventually do at home. Or i could go for ba in teaching, or i could go for a school counselor. Not sure yet!! UGH! The medical billing is an 8 month course, the teaching is 3.5 years and haven't looked inthe counseling yet.

I will be getting my BFA in Photography. This will be my 4th year, but I took a leave of absence for health reasons and so I will have to go a 5th year.
Originally, I was only going to be part-time my 5th year, taking my final senior seminar classes. However, today I realized that if I am part-time I will not get my financial aid. And I'm going to have to support my baby by myself, so I NEED the financial aid (it's how I pay rent, food, etc). So, I'm working on figuring out how to spread the last 33 credits I need out over 3 semesters.
After that I want to move closer to home and get my MS in Art Therapy.
I want to get my Master's Degree right after I graduate because I don't want my student loan's to kick in.
I'm just trusting that God will provide, He always does, but I am so scared and stressing out about everything. Fearing that I have "ruined" what I had of a life. I am so disappointed in myself.

I don't know. I know I love plants and nature, and I'm a hardcore environmentalist, but I don't know what kind of career I want, exactly. I'm interested maybe in urban farming or biodiversity reasesrch or landscaping. I had actually wanted to study horticulture but because of the GI bill, I'm limited to state schools, and their isn't one in the state that offers a horticulture major. Actually, right now I'm training to become a doula, and I'm hoping that will one day be a career at least to put me through school. I may never end up doing anything in environmental science, I may end up working around birth my whole life, but I still want the degree. Most companies don't care what kind of degree you have, as long as you have one, and in case I have to get a corporate job one day, I'd like to have one. And I may as well get my degree in something I love. Anyway, I just think education is really important, even if you are a homemaker all your life. It helps you to be a more informed and useful citizen, and it sets a good example for your children.
