While we were at the park we fed the birds, these birds are psycho when they have food thrown out for them. They just kept coming closer to us with each handful of food. DD loved it, but was also a little scared at the same time.

Nydalynn was on a little riding duck and she really liked it and always wanted back on it. The last time she was on it she bit her lip. Her face was of surprise, wondering what just happened to me? Poor baby, she was crying and her lip was bleeding. I felt bad for her. Of course I have no pics of her hurt lip. It's healing nicely.

It's actually not because of Nydalynn. I am making a friends wedding cake (I love doing this stuff). So here I am messing around on BF while the cake is cooking/cooling. I wish we could have a picture go along with the journaling, I would love to put a pic of the cake up when I'm done.

WOW!

She woke up at that time. I was so happy that I could actually get up then, I have so much to do today and this week. I would love it if she woke up at this time all week and then for good. She ended up taking a 1.5 hr nap a little while later which freed me up to do some things, instead of being stuck upstairs.

Very nice. I hope this lasts.

today is a very fussy day for Nydalynn. She is just not herself today. I better find another tooth tomorrow or the next day. Her gums are so swollen, so I'm thinking that is what is going on with her.

DH took Nydalynn to our room last night, I was still getting things put away in the living room. Well DH calls my name and little miss Nydalynn yells out my name perfectly. It was so funny, of course I had to run into the room and ask her just what she was doing. Little stinker.

Last night, when I woke up, I realized that I was feeding my DD I rolled her over to the middle of the bed and then realized that I had no idea what I was doing. It was so hard for me to go back to sleep after that because I kept thinking of what if I didn't roll her over to the middle of the bed. Our bed is very high off the ground. That scared me so bad. I sent many prayers up thanking the Lord that He allowed me to roll her to the 'safe spot' in the middle. Every time I closed my eyes...

Dr visit

She finally went to her 15 mo Dr visit. (She was very sick at 15 mos so they didn't do any of her normal stuff, just things to make her well). She weighs 21.06 lbs (at her 12 mo checkup she weighed 21.07 and when she became sick @ 15 mos sh dropped down to 21 lbs - her Dr. wasn't/isn't worried about her weight though) and she is 33" long. She recieved 2 shots and has done so well, she didn't even need tylenol, thank God!

First 'real' haircut

I took Nydalynn to the salon yesterday and she did great! She sat in a seat shaped like a car and she was holding on to her baby and she sat so still. I was amazed. Of course when DH and I tried to cut her hair in the tub she wanted nothing to do with that. She had a great time there.

Her surprise tooth

I was looking at Nydalynn's gums noticing that her bottom gums (her first molor position) are so swollen so I put my finger in there to massage the spots on both side and decided to do the top ones also. Well I stuck my finger up there and she had a tooth, and it had been there for a few days, a complete surprise to me. Now I deffinately know the reason she had been so cranky a few days before.

She finally has 8 teeth.

Now she is working on back teeth, I can tell by the amoung of drool and chewing on her fingers. She looks so crazy, but very happy while doing it.

Here I am at 12:54 am trying to get Nydalynn to sleep. She has always gon to sleep at 11:30pm. so she really should have been asleep 1.5 hrs ago. I wish I could change her clock, I am a morning person. This is something I will deffinately work on.

Chatty, chatty

If she was not eating or sleeping today she was talking. It is so cute. When her daddy came home she had so much to tell him she literally talked to him for 10 minutes. This morning when she woke up she immediately started talking, then she found the baby in the mirror she continued chatting and giggling.

So precious. I really did need a video recorder today so I could tape it.

Nydalynn has been walking around and she'll stop, turn her head to the side and just bust out w/a high pitch scream, then she will look at us w/a pleased look and clap and go about her business. Today she has been doing this more often, she usually does this 1-2 x a day. Not today, she's just been going at it. It's alittle hard on the ears.

With family in town they wanted to go to the base and see the sites and the airfield. Girls wanted to go shopping but decided to go w/the boys, big mistake. Mirror, Mirror on the wall...

She looks at herself in the mirror and she has the best time playing with herself. She laughs, shakes her head, spins on her bottom, waves, talks, makes crying noises, screams, bounces. She just has a big time playing with the baby in the mirror. I also enjoy it because it allows me time to get myself ready in the morning.

I love watching her play like that, it is so cute.

On the 27th I mentioned something about Nydalynn being slow when she walked, not any longer, she's not running, and absolutely not slow. I should give this girl a pedometer and/or an odometer (if I didn't think she would eat it) because I swear she walked at least a mile in the house last night. It was crazy and she was so pleased with herself, she would stop every so often and clap for herself and smile at us just to make sure we were seeing what she was doing.

Walking

Well last night she proved me wrong. She walked almost the whole night (a couple of hours after I posted yesterdays journal). When she would fall she would get right back up and start walking again, still a little slow but she was getting it, and of course, was very proud of herself. Can't wait to see what she does today.

Talking/Babbling

She says some words, uh-oh, mama, dada, daddy, baby, amen and I think thats it, but learning fast. Now she has been babbling almost non-stop she is so cute when she does this, if we could just understand her we could have a full blown conversation with her. We ususally just have a babbling conversation with her though. She babbles so much that she even babbles in her sleep, it wakes me and DH up and we try not to laugh so she won't wake up.

Walking

She started walking about 2-3 weeks ago but was very slow and has been practicing. Well she is not full fledged walking yet but does get around faster and will initiate walking on her own, like from the couch, but won't do it from a sitting position. We'll see how long it is before she runs - I'm sure it will be in no time now. She is getting there slowly but surely.

Potty strike

I know I have said I wasn't pushing her into going tee-tee on the big potty (I haven't been). She was doing fine for a while but then about 2-3 weeks ago she started not going until I put her pamper on and a couple of days I was lazy and didn't put her on at all and the last 2 days she wanted nothing to do with it so I just take her off and get her dressed. I know she has been teething for some time now but still hasn't had any break through. This has bothered her sleep pattern, we've all been soaked through when we hold her, she has bitten me more while nursing and she has been chewing on everything else, but still nothing. I hope something happens soon.

Potty Time

Again, we are really not trying to potty train right now just doing some introduction. She still goes on the potty in the am when she wakes up dry (that is most of the time) and she does really well with that. She woke up yesterday from her nap dry but pooting quite a bit. So I went for it and put her on the potty and she poopied in the potty. She does really well and doesn't mind being on the potty and when she puts up a fuss I get her down. She sure does love the toilet paper though.

Eating

She eats some but not much. I want her to eat more food, not because she looks or acts hungry, but I thought that she would be eating more. I guess it doesn't help that she hates baby food. The only thing she really enjoys is fresh fruit.

The crib

She loves to play in it and she has the bes time, but the minute she thinks you want her to fall asleep in there she is MAD! So when she does fall asleep she goes in there (this has only happened the last few days). She still wakes during the night, but when she does I make DH bring her to me. Of course, I'm too tired to care if she remains in the bed with me.

I just hope she'll be sleeping the whole night through in her crib, aqnd out of our room before she's 3.

Well last Sunday her 3rd tooth popped through and then this Sunday her 4th came out. I really hope she will stop biting me as much as she has been. She is doing a little better today. Oh, when she 1st bit me a couple days ago I seriously had tears and entertained the thought of giving her formula.

Church

Nydalynn is becoming more and more vocal in Church. During the music she was also singing, and it seems at the quietest times all you can hear is her. She did finally go to sleep though, through the message, at least she was quiet and I wa able to hear the whole message. I hope she does that more often.

Communication

Whether crying, signing or using body language, they sure do know how to get their message across. Just in these past weeks she has grown more proficient in letting us know her happiness, discomforts and just plain blah moments. I love watching her grow and develop, it is amazing.

My Daughters

They get along just great. My 9 month old just loves her big sister. She gives her more kisses than me - Yes I am jealous! It is cute, though. MY 14 yr old is great with the baby. She makes a big deal about people asking her if the baby is hers, but honestly I think she likes that.

One thing I do know about my older DD is that she sees on a daily basis how difficult rasing a baby is and she is in no hurry for that responsibility. I believe she will enjoy other babies and then...

I have seen an increase in Nydalynn's understanding & learning lately. She has been signing hi & milk for about 2 weeks now. She added dada to her vocabulary. She is standing on her own. There is more but the fact that she is doing these things at once is just amazing me. 9 Month Dr. appt

Well Nydalynn weighs 9 lbs 4 oz and she is 27" long. She had a little cough and her nose was runny once or twice throughout the day and when we took her into the Dr.s office he said she had croup - I really don't believe she did, there was no other signs for that. Her Dr. was very busy that day, but other than that he is a very good Dr. She is doing much better and doesn't cough anymore and we didn't give her the meds.

Well every morning that she wakes up dry I have been putting her on the big potty and she uses it. I just put her on right after she wakes up and it doesn't take long. One time she even went pooppy pottie. I am not trying to potty train just yet but if she wakes up dry I will put her on the potty. There is no pressure.

Eating and teething

Well Nydalynn does not have any more teeth but I believe she is trying to get more. They seem to be trying to come in on the bottom and she is constantly chewing and drooling and biting my fingers or shoulder, these are just two of her favorites. She has been very good while going through all this.

Now for the eating part - she is a champion nurser but as far as food goes she would rather do without. She shakes, gags and refuses to open her mouth. She is slowly becoming better,...

Well Nydalynn is growing up so fast and I love watching her grow and develop. She is crawling very well, pulling herself up on anything that will support her. She has been using the pincer grasp on me for the past month and has left scratches on me (I always know when I need to trip her sharp little fingernails). We we to the Dr. on May 10th and she recieved her shots - she did worse this time around. She had a temp for 1.5 days.

her stats are:
height: 27 1/2" (95%)
weight: 16 lbs 13 oz (75%)
circ: 17 1/4" (95%)

Stuffy nose and coughing

Thurs. May 10th she woke up w/ a stuffy nose and now it's progressed to coughing also. Steamy washcloths and saline drops are doing some good for her stuffiness, but I hate the cough. I am going to try the plug-in vicks things. Hope that works.
