38 weeks with Hayden

Today I am having a rough day. Today is monday and I just hit 38 weeks. On friday when I had an appt with the midwife I was 4cm, 50%, and very soft. Still -3 station. It looked like I would go into labor this weekend. Well here I sit Monday morning and you still haven't come. I'm so disappointed because I want to hold you so badly. Hormonally I am all over the place today.

So we had another midwife appt. today. We are making progress! I am now 3cm (and stretchy), 30% effaced (and very soft), and you are at a -3 station! Had an appt. today. You passed your non-stress test really quick like always. I went ahead and got checked today simply because I was curious. I'm about 1.5cm, not effaced but very soft, and you are still floating. The interesting thing is that I don't normal bleed after an exam and today I am just a little. We had the baby shower and it was a huge success! So many people showed up!! It made me feel so glad to know we had so many friends and family to support us. There isn't a whole lot going on other than my feeling extremely HUGE and uncomfortable and tired. You were moving so much today that it took awhile to get the non-stress test done since every time you moved we lost your heartbeat on the monitors. Midwife just called and we have a weight estimate on you, 3197grams which equals roughly 7lbs 1oz. WOW!!!! I'm astonished. I'm really hoping you are born right at 37 weeks!

Yesterday I had another midwife appt and NST. It went really well. All of the sudden my blood sugar is really stablizing. This morning my fasting was a 79! The only weird thing is that 2 weeks ago when I was 31 weeks I was measuring 34 weeks and now being 33 weeks I am measuring 38 weeks! Today we get to go have another ultrasound and find out how you are doing. Are you big? Am I just carrying a lot of amniotic fluid? Are you just laying funny? It's been pretty eventful lately. Last week I was having some contractions and so I had to take some meds. Seemed like it went away. Well yesterday I caught a stomach bug that your siblings had but I got it much worse. After throwing up 8 times I went into the hospital to get rehydrated. While here I started having contractions. The last couple of days I've been feeling funny and I began to suspect that I was becoming gestational diabetic again. On Saturday afternoon I was at 143 when i should have been under 120, then tonight I was at 160 when I should have been under 120. Tomorrow is a midwife's appt and I will be asking to do my testing early. I also am wondering if I will have to have IV antibotics during labor since I had a UTI that was caused by group B strep. Should be a long appt tomorrow.

So this weekend was very eventful, We moved the kids bedrooms around to prepare for your arrival. You will be sharing a bedroom with Russell when you are born. We had our ultrasound last night. As the tech was doing the basic measuremeants I thought I saw something peeking out from between the baby's legs but thought I was wrong. I can't believe I'm still throwing up! I don't know why but I'm curious if maybe it's a boy this time or maybe even twins. I don't think I've ever been sick this long. Regardless of that I'm feeling pretty good. A little tired and easily winded but that's normal I think. Can't wait until next monday when I get my ultrasound and can see the baby! Well I guess that's all the update I have for now.

Feeling kinda sick these days. Normally throw up in the morning but then don't actually get sick anymore than that, however I feel naesaous all day long. I find I have a bit more energy in the evenings and feel a little better too. Hoping that soon I will start to get relief from the morning sickness that is the one thing I don't like about pregnancy. Morning sickness has been better than with the first 3 but it's still there. Only thrown up 3 times in the last week. but 2 of those were the lasts 2 days. Ugh. Can't wait until 14 weeks when I'll feel better.

feeling nauseous the last few days. tried eating beans at 2 am when I woke up and went pee and felt bad. It worked! It took about 15 minutes before I felt relief but it helped! Woke up and ate beans again this morning. It helped, but not as much. At least I'm able to function okay though. It's hard to eat the beans but it doesn't take much. Only about 1/4 cup and I start feeling better. We'll see what happens.

Woke up 3 times to pee and then woke up this morning feeling very nauseous. Welcome morning sickness. Wish it would go away. It's the one thing I hate about pregnancy.

Feeling pretty good. I get tired real easy but other than that I feel great! We've told our siblings but not anyone else yet. We are waiting just a little longer. I'm excited but right now frustrated with trying to figure out what midwife to see for care.

I found out on friday in the morning. I thought it was weird that my period hadn't come so I had steve pick up a test for me to take in the morning and sure enough it was POSITIVE! Wow I'm so excited. This was very unexpected but I'm thrilled and so is Steve! Thus far I am feeling pretty good except for being very tired. I've been taking naps and going to bed early which are both unusual for me. No nausea yet, thank you God.

On Wednesday I had some prelabor/early labor for about 3-4 hours with contractions getting stronger, and lasting longer, and getting to about 3 mins apart. I was so excited! I thought well this is a good start to you coming out! Unfortunately nothing happened after that. Now it's 1:15 in the morning and I can't sleep. I have a dull ache in my back. We'll see if this goes anywhere.

So it's getting really close to the time for your birth. We've had an ultrasound (on monday Oct. 27th when I was 36 weeks) and they said you are about 7 lbs! Well, it's been an interesting couple of days. I've been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. I have to monitor my blood sugar 4 times a day, eat a specific diet, and try to get a lot of exercise. Meanwhile, you are such an active little baby. You seem like you are really getting big! I can't wait until November comes and you are born. I can't wait to meet you!

My dearest Aniella, it has been quite busy around here. Your older siblings are in soccer, AWANA, scouts, plus homework, and we are all working to get ready for you! Had another midwife appt today. I'm feeling great now! Heartbeat was 140 (last appt was 143) and I'm measuring right on target. I've gained 6 lbs thus far. Ultrasound is in a week! I can't wait!!! For the past couple of days I've been feeling much better, a little quesiy in the morning but not too bad. I think the key is to make sure I am eating even though I don't feel like it. No morning sickness yet. I can't believe it! The worst thing I've felt was my breasts being really tender on the first few days we knew, last week, but this week I'm feeling pretty good. A little tired but that's it.
