hey ya'll, sorry so long without an update, but the last few days haven't gone exactly as planned to say the least...so lets start here.

Layla's due date was October 8th and we saw that day come and pass sadly, so the doc decided (due to mom's discomfort) to schedule induction for Tues, October 14th, at 6am. We reported to Labor & Delivery at 6am as planned where I was checked into a deliver room, hooked up to an IV and my water was broken. After a couple hours, I was still just 2-...

is the best, she was all ready to jump in the car last night and drive down at 7pm. I am so excited to see her and really appreciate her dedication to me. It's going to be a great time sharing Layla with her and receiving all the help she can muster. I love you mom.

I got my Fisher Price Starlight Papasan, BEST BABY SWING IN THE WORLD! Soooo pretty, Jason and just sat there in the darkened room and watched it, I cannot wait to see Layla just rocking in it! DH wants one for himself, only larger. haha

Also received the diaper disposal system, which is a Graco Touch-Free, I pray pray pray that the reviewers were honest and it's as good as it sounds... It sure is HUGE! Hopefully that will mean that it holds ALOT!

I'm never letting DH touch me again, I'm sore sore sore from last night's "fun" and when the doc did the internal exam, it's all I could do to stay off the ceiling. But nonetheless, head first baby, 80% effaced, fingertip dialation, *sigh*...

Eye doctor's appt at 9:15pm, then OB appt at 1:45pm

I have been seeing a "floater" in my right eye recently and apparently that can be a potential retinal issue/threat of detachment (?!?) Well what's worse is within the stress of labor and pushing, all the pressure that's built up can cause a further danger of retinal detachment!! Crazy huh? So I may come out of labor half blind! Yikes!

UTI seems to be what resulted from last night's maddness. Back pain started at about 5:30pm and started getting progressively worse til about 9:00 when I couldn't take it anymore and we went to the hostpital to ensure that labor wasn't progressing. Went in, they hooked me of and found my BP to be 135/73, highest it's been, but supposedly explainable by the pain I was in. They hooked me up to the fetal heartbeat monitor and also contraction monitor, so much fun lemme tell ya and everything ...

I gave her a card on the last night of our Preparation for Birth class because I REALLY feel like she helped answer SO MANY questions and put us at ease... It was so nice to receive a note in return, so unexpected, I really hope I can look her up when we have Layla. :)

Found out yesterday that our doggie dear has the beginning signs of hip dysplasia. Well in the past DH and I had discussed her being an outdoor doggie for a few months after Miss Layla makes her debut, but since this news yesterday, that seems to have all changed in DH's mind. I just feel like everything we discuss and I bank on becomes mush if he so chooses, and I'm a bit sick of it.
