| Finally, officially TTC blog |
Okay, well, when the hubby and I decided to start TTC again at Easter, we also talked about some of the health problems I ran into last time, and decided that I needed to sit down with my doctors and discuss some things to do NOW to prevent those again.
Those appointments were in March.
My OB/GYN office (my doctor moved, so I only saw a nurse) cleared me and went ahead and gave me the prescripiton for Clomid, since we already knew I'd need it because of last time. The nurse acted like she thought I was crazy for wanting to get pregnant again after having had HELLP syndrome though.
My regular doctor though, he sent me in for lab work and a sleep study, advised that the best thing I could do was try to lose some weight and to focus on that for about the next 6 months. Okay, well, that delay is worth not having pre-e again. When my lab work came back, he put me back on metformin for my PCOS (started the meds the beginning of May). He tried to put me on phentermine, but I refused that one.
Now, its the first of August (close enough, LOL). I have lost a total of 35 pounds this year, and am back under 200lbs. Yay! I'm eating really healthy and am more active, although I don't really "exercise" much...chasing a toddler around is definitely activity! Yeah, it hasn't been 6 months yet, but 35lbs across 7 months is pretty significant weight loss! And the hubby and I are going to Hawaii (sans toddler, he is staying with Grandma for a week!) for our anniversary. I am off my birth control and on the Clomid. My fertile days are while we'll be on vacation. I can't think of a better time or a better situation that this month.
So cross your fingers for me (and blow some baby dust my way!) that we can expand our little family soon, and give our son some siblings (one at a time though!).
