15 weeks

15 weeks blog
Woo hoo for being in the 2nd trimester! I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, but it was just to hear the heart beat on the doppler, which was 155. I have a home doppler that I bought for myself for my bday, so it wasn't that big of a deal. My next appointment is August 6 at 18 weeks 4 days for blood test- testing for spina bifida and down syndrome.

Physically, I have a noticeable bump. I need to get another scale at home, so I can monitor my weight to make sure I don't gain too much since I started out heavier. I have been having really bad heartburn at night and occasional headaches. The doctor said I can take tums and tylenol, so that was good to know. I get semi nauseous at night or when I go too long without eating, but it has gotten much better. Energy is better than it was, but I get drained really easy when I'm running around.
I'm definitely going to have to invest in maternity clothes ASAP! I keep putting it off, but I have browsed in stores- I just can't find anything that appeals to me.

Emotionally, hearing my baby's heartbeat at home everyday is so amazing. I cry really easily at nothing now- though I was a little bit of a cry baby before. I am so ready to actually have a baby bump vs. baby bloat. I won't be able to find out the gender until 20-22 weeks according to my doctor, which really stinks. I want to know what this baby is so I stop calling the baby an "it." We really want a girl, but I think we're going to have a boy and I keep dreaming about having a son. It really doesn't matter was long as the baby is healthy. The in-laws are so excited, they've already said anytime we need a break to let them watch it and I'm not even near having it yet, lol. My husband is an only child, so our children will be their only grand children, so I am sure they're excited. My dad and step mom have 7 grandchildren already and my mom has one. Most of them are boys though, so we could sure use a girl to help balance it out- I think it would be make my dad more excited if it were a girl since all of his girls had boys.

I find myself wanting the weeks to go faster at least until we find out what it is. We're going to come up with a way make the gender announcement special like a youtube video or something. We did a movie poster for our wedding announcement, so we'll definitely have to make the gender announcement special/creative, too.

"Thanks for the suggestion on maternity clothes. I find browsing online much easier than actually looking in stores. Do you know if you go by your regular size for maternity clothes? Motherhood Maternity said regular size up to 20 weeks and then up one size after 20 weeks- not sure if that's the same with all maternity clothes or not." -- AMESSER1179
"Love the ideas for the gender announcement!

As for maternity clothes, I'm pretty picky as well but Old Navy has some good ones for good prices..." -- JLTATER3997
