Keeping morning sickness at bay

Keeping morning sickness at bay blog
On Wednesday, I fainted for the first time in my life. What made it doubly embarrassing was that I was at the office and it happened in front of people who didn't know I was pregnant! I was only out for a minute or two, and scraped my elbow up and skinned my knee. Thankfully I didn't hit my head, but for the rest of the day, I fought waves of nausea and cramping that liked to kill me. At one point I was crying in the bathroom, just hoping it would pass. By 5 p.m., it had subsided.
Yesterday I decided to stay on top of my nutrition a little better (wednesday for breakfast all I had was cereal, some skim milk and a banana which I don't think was enough protein) so I started the day with some egg beaters and toast, instead of just carby cereal. Today I ate a Kashi whole grain waffle and a Morningstar Farms soy sausage patty. I'm trying to eat every two hours in order to stave off any low blood sugar issues.
I was so happy yesterday that I didn't have a repeat of the day before, and I was even able to attend my regular hour-long spin class last night with no problem. Today I'm hoping I do OK, I'm planning on going to the gym for an hour to do the elliptical machine.
I'm not scheduled to see the doctor until July 9, so I didn't call him to tell him I had fainted. I don't know what they would tell me, when I talked to them after receiving the blood test results they were very insistent that I wait until 8 weeks before seeing them. Should I have called the doctor Wednesday?

"I'm really glad youre ok. Be careful and take care of yourself." -- CHEERLB47
"Yes! Yes! Yes! Informing them (doc/nurse) wouldn't hurt, as long as they are aware of the situation they could better prepare for it in the future. Getting your protein def preffered if possible, and exercising I agree with the ladies above, take your time, and if you feel you need to stop go for it. I've never fainted but sounds scary. An episode log (journal) could possibly help...show your doc, don't dismiss anything. I'm sure they'd want to rule out any possibility. Good luck!" -- BABYFITAVERY12
"I would call your nurse, but they will probably say since you're better, just look out for certain things. Still call!! Sounds like you have a handle on the nausea. I only feel my best when I'm eating very small (healthy) meals every two hours. It's when I go nuts with fatty things, etc., that I pay for it. Being a workhorse when it came to fitness, I have been benched by this first trimester exhaustion. If you feel bad after any workouts, then you may want to cut them in half and/or skip ..." -- TYON74
"Definitely keep your doctor in the loop and then let him make the decision of seeing you or not" -- FUNSHIPBABY
