Little Kevin is 5 1/2 weeks old!
....and yeah, cute as can be!! I wish I had more pictures of myself with him :) but we have lots of cute pictures of daddy and baby!
He's doing really good, I'm doing really good and daddy is doing really good! KJ3 is smiling quite a bit and his personality is really starting to come out. Breastfeeding was just starting to get easy, and now I'm back at work (pumping) and hoping to keep him solely on breast milk until he's ready to start eating solids.
He's growing up so fast. His head control is great and he is very alert. He's a very content baby - as long as he's not hungry or very wet, he's pretty happy. He loves to just lay in bed and look around.
We weighed him at home this week and he was about 9 1/4 pounds. We moved him out of his infant g-diapers and into size "small" and I'm sad to say we will be retiring most of his infant sized onsies this week!
He sucks his thumb when he gets mad or hungry and lately he has only been waking once per night to nurse and have a diaper change. The nights are getting easier, but it sure has been difficult getting up and to work on time in the mornings!
My mom came to visit this week. She's been staying with him while daddy and I go to work. I feel sad for her that she lives so far away from her only grandchild. I moved out of state almost five years ago and I know it's been hard on her being so far away, but with the baby, I think it magnifies it. I don't feel guilty for moving away - but I know she's sad about it. She's nearly in tears every time she talks about going back. I wish her and my dad could both be closer, but I am very happy that KJ3 has his Nanna and Papa (daddy's parents) nearby that he can have a close relationship with.
Wednesday will be little Kevin's first time alone with our hired babysitter - Margaret. I'm happy to be going back to work and feeling very comfortable with our "nanny" and I'm just hoping everything continues to work out for us.
