Yes... You've read that correctly. I had my first ultrasound and doc appointment today for "Take 4" pregnancy, and the verdict is.... TWINS! Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh! I'm shocked and overwhelmed and nervous and joyful... I could go on and on. Overwhelmed is the key word though. After having 3 miscarriages and not really a surefire treatment (daily Lovenox injections), I was just so freaking happy to see that white blob on the ultrasound screen! But to see two?!? I did notice that there was more than one black sack, and a moment later the U/S tech said, "You have twins!" I don't clearly remember, but I believe my first reaction was "You're kidding." She went on to explain and show me each gestational sack, yolk sack, and little white blob (as I affectionately call these u/s images) of an embryo. TWO BABIES!! Two little heartbeats flickering on the screen... Both were at good rates too; in the 120s. One was measuring 6 weeks 3 days and the other was measuring 6 weeks 2 days. Just as they should be based on my ovulation. That was also a huge relief because that is also something that was never right with my earlier pregnancies... They were never measuring as they should based on my ovulation and we never got to see the heartbeats. *sigh*
Here's their first pictures! :-)
