Today Violet is 4 weeks, 1 day. What a chunky monkey!
She reminds me a lot of Kent when he was younger. She HATES car rides (screams the whole time), wants to eat all the time and not be on a schedule without me pushing it, doesn't sleep through the night (wants to get up every 3-5 hours. Mommy is tired!) has her own version of colic (thanks to Prilosec she isn't screaming anymore, but she is awake and fussy, eating every 30 minutes, and needing to be burped alot between the hours of 6-9pm. Finally around 8:30, she starts calming a little. I give her gripe water and then she is out. She takes a paci although she is finding her fingers are an ok alternative if I'm not quick enough to give the paci to her.
Yesterday I braved taking all 3 kids to the grocery store. I put Violet in a sling and accomplished it with only a few meltdowns by Isaac. In two days, I go back to the church to start work again in Scribbles. I have succesfully put her in a Moby, now I just have to see if she likes it! for an extended period of time. Like her older brother, Isaac, she has her first case of diaper rash and has experienced cloth for the first time already! Right now, when we are home during the week, I have two kids in cloth!
She is loved by absolutely EVERYONE. I barely get to hold her whenever we are anywhere. I am actually surprised she hasn't gotten sick because of everyone kissing on her!
This weekend K and I get to have our very first date-no kiddos! We are going to see the Hunger Games. So so excited!
K and I took all the kids to the doctor today for Isaac. He has been crying, screaming, fussy, not eating...which for him means only one thing. Ear infection. He is on amoxicilin again and they reffered us back to the ENT which probably means another tube surgery here soon. He definitely has K's genes. Makes me wonder who Vi will take after health-wise, Kent or Isaac?
Other big news: K has decided to reapply to college. We have talked about it forever but he finally decided to go for it! I am happy for him...since Kent was born he has done alot to change and improve himself and better his job opportunities. Like he says, nothing motivates you more than having kids!
Also, K finally gave me the green light on homeschooling Kent for pre-k. It is going to be a huge undertaking but I am excited to give him an opportunity to learn in his own way, at his own pace....at home. I hope it is as good as I'm thinking it will be.
Looks like life is going to be super busy for us in 2012.
