Resume normal course

Resume normal course blog
I had a follow up appointment on Friday for Tuesday’s hospitalization to monitor my contractions(my 5th visit for my cranky uterus). The doctor said that I can go off bed rest but need to still take it easy. I’ve seen this doctor one time before and her perspective seems to be less dramatic than the other one. The other one has sent me to the hospital twice for monitoring although it’s been acknowledged that my uterus is irritable and busy contracting all day long without patterns. This doctor said that women who have an irritable uterus that contracts a lot often make it to full term. She also said that if I’m going to deliver earlier bed rest will not really make a difference in my case. She said my baby’s growth is excellent, my amniotic fluid is good although on the lower side, and my cervix is a decent length(though shortened and anterior). I am to take it easy, watch for patterns in my contractions, and I can go to work.

I’m glad to be freed from the couch and allowed to move about more. I wish lifting the bed rest orders magically made it so that I didn’t get as many contractions with the intensity that I do, as it’s still kind of limiting. Here’s a photo from the most recent hospital visit. This is one of my intense contractions. There is a scale of 0-100 for the intensity on the monitor and mine are either in the 90s or in the 50s.
