16 weeks

16 weeks blog
16 weeks, and most definitely showing! I took some pictures on my iphone last night to document, and comparing them to other pictures on my phone from this summer the difference was staggering (and a little disheartening). In the past week I've started to get some sciatic pain in my left butt cheek. I had a massage, but that honestly didn't do a thing for it. The pain is worse when I'm walking on a flat surface. So I tried out some hiking this weekend and it was AMAZING for my pain! Now it's all I wanna do, lol!

I also had my first registry purchase made this weekend - yea! And my hubby and I made a first baby purchase of our own - a high chair that was on sale online for $20. Too good to pass up! I started clearing out the office for the baby today. Sigh . . . . this will be a loooong project. It's been our catch-all room, and I just don't know where we're going to put this stuff! I was planning on roller containers under our king-sized bed, but now I'm not sure that will work completely.

I've now gained a total of just over 12lbs from day of conception to today. Not too bad, but not great either. I've been craving snack cakes really badly, and cheese. Anything with cheese. omg Oh, and giant bowls of raisin bran - yum yum. So I know I'm taking in too many calories - I know I know I know.

This weekend I took the plunge, and ordered a whole bunch of maternity clothes online from pea in the pod and motherhood maternity. I have this mental block about going INTO a maternity store, so I ordered a whole bunch of stuff knowing I wouldn't keep all of it just so I can try them on in my own home and decide how I feel about the clothes. I guess I'm having a little trouble with my changing body shape, and I definitely don't want to see it in the horrific lighting of a dressing room - no thanks!

Also took the first step with signing up for a Bradley Method birthing class. Now we just have to put a deposit down to reserve our spot in the class.

And I have selected a weekend for my baby shower that my youngest sis is helping me throw. March 10th or 11th. I had originally planned on something in a restaurant on a Saturday evening, 5-7pm. Co-ed, some appetizers, some alcohol, and opening presents. But now I'm not sure. I love the idea of a brunch, but if we have people from out of state (where all of our family lives) come, then that wouldn't be very convenient for them. And the more I'm looking at prices for the amount of people we think will attend, the more I'm leaning toward something in my own home. Plenty of time still to decide . . .

"I understand how disheartening the changing body shape can be... I just keep reminding myself that the end result is more than worth it! I remember feeling so huge when I was 39 weeks pregnant with my son and the next day, when I dressed in regular clothes and looked sideways in the mirror, I felt skinnier than I had ever been in my life! Sure, I was still fluffy and my stomach was like mush, but going from being so huge to having no baby in there makes you feel pretty darn skinny! :-)" -- MRS.FREEMAN07
