| I have a recording of the heartbeat! blog |
It's truly amazing how OB appointments can change across doctors, years, states, etc. This is my 3rd baby, each with a different OB, in a different city, in a different hospital. I've been lucky, I've never had an OB restrict my weight gain, tell me what I can/can't eat, etc.
My OB with dd1 was awesome, her nurse was a crab, the hospital was great. My 2nd OB was awesome, his nurse was awesome - the hospital experience wasn't ideal. This baby - my OB is always in a hurry, or so it seems, and the nurses are pretty brisk and unfriendly - until yesterday. The nurse was so nice and friendly. Yesterday's appt was great because she went out of her way for me. We were listening to the heartbeat when I asked her if I could record it (the nurse from my 14 wk appt said no) and she grabbed my purse for me and waited for me to set up my phone and I was able to record a good 30 seconds of heartbeat on my phone. My dh works away for 2 wks at a time so he hasn't been able to hear the heartbeat, this was a neat way for me to share it with him. She was friendly, helpful, and reassuring.
My weight gain was actually a loss from my 14wk appt (which I think was actually wrong) so I'm on the right track. + 7 lbs so far! My BP was great which surprised me because my heartbeat was pounding.
The best part of my appointment is that I scheduled my ultrasound for March 14th! My OB said I could bring a DVR so I can take the images home. I wasn't able to do this with dd2, they didn't allow recordings. So exciting! 9 days and counting. Praying for a healthy baby.
