My first Mother's Day was perfect. It started with my husband making me breakfast in bed. He made french toast, which I love, turkey bacon, fresh strawberries, and orange juice. It was ultimately the best breakfast I have had in a long time. After church, we went to my in-laws to celebrate the day with his mom. We were supposed to eat around lunch time, but didn't get to eat until around 4 pm because we couldn't get the grill put together. I got a little frustrated because we were supposed to be eating at my mom's at 6 pm, so basically we ate two meals back to back. All in all, it was a good weekend.
Yesterday was my 23rd birthday and I treated myself to a day at the spa. I had a gift card from my MIL that she gave to me last year for our wedding to pay for my hair and makeup. Well, I had already paid for most of that myself, so I had about $135 left on the card. I treated myself to a pregnancy massage, pedicure, and haircut. It was great because I have never done any of that before and it was so relaxing. My husband is making dinner for me tonight to finish off my birthday gift.
I have been reading a few of Joyce Meyer's books and watching her show Enjoying Everyday Living and I would have to say that I truly have noticed a positive change in my outlook on life. A few weeks ago, I could honestly say that I was depressed and did not see the positive light in anything. However, my husband truly sat down and listened to all I had to say and just told me that everything I was saying was a lie. I knew deep down inside that it was, but I was convinced that it was true. Since then, I have been able to see that I truly am a beautiful person and couldn't be happier to be a mother soon. God has blessed me with this opportunity and I am so happy because of it.
