It's been a while..we are having another boy!
I haven't added anything since first found out about the pregnancy...I guess I'm a bit more overwhelmed, worried and just not sure how it's all going to work out: having 2 kids, job, finance, etc. I know we can manage but still question how I am going to be able to share my love that I have for Daniel between 2 now........I guess, I'll learn - at least everyone says it's not a challenge....they'd better be right.

We are planning to move Daniel to another room and I'm excited as we are going to make him a big boy room with real bed (car shape) and all the toys.

Daniel talks to his brother and he is so sweet when he kisses my tummy talking to it:) I can't wait to have them playing together and building real life long friendship - something I never had being the only child. I know they would be great friends and support to each other through the life and it makes me happy:)

What a change!
Daniel is almost 8 month now: he likes to walk now and it doesn't matter where - in a crib, holding to his walker but he can't sit still. He tries to find shorcuts when he is in a pack and play and walk from one corner to the other without holding to the edge...well, it doesn't work yet:)
His first tooth finally broke through so he is not toothless any longer, it's coming! Funny, how it works, when he started teething he was 3 month and he's getting his first tooth at 8! He makes up little words and repeats words after us, some days he can say a word over and over again but the next day he would forget it.
I am going back to work in a month and it is so hard on me...I can't imagine leaving Daniel for a whole day and seeing him only at night........He is my little man, my biggest love and the reason for everything. I thank God for giving us our little sunshine!

Our first Christmas!
It was more than perfect - we had wonderful times and Santa came to bring lots of presents to Daniel. He was very serious opening them on Christmas day! What a joy to watch him grow! He sleeps better now, tries to sit up on his own and just being happy little boy - loves to play with his feet (I'm sure it's the most yummy feet on earth!), loves laughing and making his high pitch little sounds - I've never heard anything like this in my life - it's so much fun!
He likes to eat his cereal and loves his bottle! TV is still the greatest entertainment of all times!

5 month! we are growing so fast!
Daniel is 5 month old now...wow, the time flies! He is 18.9 lb and 72 cm - big boy!
He said his first word on Dec. 4 - I nearly passed out when I heard him say "mama". Since then he tries to say mama again but it sounds more like ama:)
Yesterday, Dec. 19 he had his first solid food - rice cereal on a spoon - it was so funny to watch him! Everyday he surprises us with something and we are in love with this little guy.

it's been awhile...
I haven't touched my journal for a long time...our little sweet baby is growing and we are so happy to have him in our lives. Daniel is thriving, he's learning how to sit up and like to stand now...he doesn't want to lie down any more - any chance he has he would sit, stand or scream so you pick him up:)
He's screaming in a very high pitch now as he discovering all different sounds he can make. He is a big boy - on his 4 month check up he weighted 16.13 lb and was 67 cm. (average of 5.5-6 month old).
we love spending time with him and he likes to play with us. He also likes his jumperoo and his new super sit with toys around it. He likes tummy time and screams happily for half-hour when he's on his tummy.

our little one is a night person!
well, we discovered our little one is a total night person (like mother like son:) He likes to sleep in the morning and becomes so playful at night! We try to put him to bed around 10:00 PM but this is the time when he's ready to play - he laughs, tells us stories, looks around and ready to go for an hours! I wonder if we keep him awake, he might be playing for at least 2 hours before he's tired.

2 month!
Ok, it's funny how fast and slow the time passes.....on one hand, I'm still adjusting and go day by day on the other, Daniel is 2 month old already! He's becoming so sweet and funny - he smiles and laughs a lot. His stomach is getting better but he still likes to scream when he wakes up or there's something he doesn't like (like a carsit, going to the mall, etc.) I wish he would become a bit more settled so we can plan on going places now. I need to be patient! (and it's not one of my strengths).
Daniel likes to play now and talks to us on his own cute language. However, yesterday he said Da! Alex was asking me if we are giving Danny 2.5 ml of Zantac and our smarty pants said Da! Also, he's showing signs of teething which I hope is not happening for another 4 month. He's started drooling quite a bit and it scares me as I wanted him to get over the stomach before any teething starts and also I was planning on BF him till he is 6 month so I hope it's nothing yet.

Journey continues
It's been almost 6 weeks - long and short 6 weeks since we had our baby. He's growing and changing every day - it's incredible to see those little changes in him: smiles, new faces, new habits...
Danny is still fussy baby and you can't blame him as he still has gas and acid problems so we are trying to make it better and easier. We still have no sleep, no rest but the joy of having him is so worth it. When our little one looks at us and smiles - it feels like nothing else matters. He already started noticing more and more things around him, he started playing with his toys (well, not exactly playing but staring at them) and he now can roll over (holly molly, at 5 weeks!)

well, we had our baby!
it all started on Sunday, July 13 when my water broke. I didn't want to think that was the beginning but finally asked ladies on the babyfit board and they suggest I call the hospital. The hospital wanted for me to come and check whether it's water and sure enough it was. They wouldn't let us go back home then...I was told they need to induce and the faster they do it, the better. the induction started on Monday, after we talk to our obstetrician Dr. Brill and he said there is no other alternative. Well, the rest is history as with my kind of luck when I was ready for Epidural, it didn't work because of my scoliosis (they tried it twice)...and I was supposed to go natural...I did...I tried...till 7:00 AM Tuesday morning...but could not get dilated more than 8 cm...the only alternative at this point was c-section and this is what we decided to go with...I fell asleep in 5 minutes and when I finally woke up (great! I was scared that I wouldn't) I saw Alex with a little baby in his arms....our little boy...I thought I would just die when I saw and held him...it was all worth it! He is perfect and we love him more than anything! Our little bundle of joy, Daniel Alexander was born at 7:57 AM, on Tuesday July 15 (he made it 37 weeks - he wanted to be a full term baby) weighting 7 lb 13.6 oz. 52 cm.

The nursery is complete!
we did it! It's finished and looks really good! I was happy to see the results - we drew Giraffe and made a palm tree that totally surprised me! It looks awesome! Now the room is ready for a little one and I hope we'll have great time there watching our baby grow:)

washing and ironing:)
Well, we began to wash and iron all the bedding and baby clothes today. My mom wanted to help me with it so I went over this morning to pick her up and we spent all day working on it. I didn't even realize it would take so long and we are not completely done yet but it feels good knowing we did quite a lot and even though I'm tired, it's very rewarding to see piles of freshly washed baby stuff:)

another weekend
oh, we did quite a lot this weekend as I guess we realize that the time flies by and it's still so much more to do! I made another 3 centerpieces for the baby shower and they turned out really cute! Now, as for the decorations, we'll need diaper cake and maybe couple more things but it's pretty much done. Alex did amazing job in laundry room (he made a shelf to store all the things we have in there and hang the iron board, etc. Looks so organized now!). He also started working on the closet and shoe rack for me which I hope he'll be able to finish within couple of days. Tomorrow I'm off so I plan to work on cleaning and washing all the baby clothes and bedding. My mom wanted to help me out with it and I might have her to come over so we can work on it together.
So much to do so little time but I know we'll do our best to finish everything on time!

countdown makes me nervous!
I get stressed looking at the # of days left and realizing that life about to change forever...I hope for the best! I have to figure out so many things: how to take care of LO when he comes, what to do with my career (when I actually have to start looking for new job), finances, etc. I only hope we can be strong enough to do it all....work, family and us...

back from vacation
We had a great time in NYC! Thank God, everything was OK: the flight and the drive as I was worried about this part. It was a bit harder for me to handle the whole day of walking around so we did a lot of different activities: TV and movie tour, Circle line, watched 3 Broadway shows (The Curtains, Jersey Boys and Mary Poppins) to keep me going:) Alex surprised me for my birthday with the Breakfast at Tiffany theme:) We took a cab to the Tiffany and had a muffin with the coffee there and then he gave me my presents: sunglasses and pedant from Tiffany (and of course, the movie Breakfast at Tiffany)...we went to the Central Park then and had a beautiful picnic followed by a ride on the carousel. Then we did TV and movie tour which was quite interesting and lasted for 3 hrs. and after that changed and went to do the Sunset Circle line tour which was just perfect. We had a dinner at one of the restaurant on the Broadway and had a great balcony seat...All 4 days were beautiful: we did a lot, the weather was perfect most of the time and I didn't want to come back. Now, we are back and working on the house again - painting outside, cleaning, finishing the nursery - the whole 9 yard!

we are going to NYC
Ok, we finally decided we are going! We are driving to Buffalo and then take a plane to NYC from there. I'm still a bit worried but hope for the best! It at least will feel like vacation to go to our favourite city. I hope LO will be fine and all 3 of us will enjoy time together.
We didn't do much today - cleared the closet (great deal actually) and added couple touches to the nursery. When we are back we are planning to work on the house like crazy so it's ready and looks good.

baby shower
I'm not sure why we decided to do it and I get really frustrated....seems like we would have to plan everything on our own! I know no one actually suggested they would do it for us but you still think that people will be a bit more proactive in wanting to help out...I guess I just have to let it go and treat like something that I'm doing so friends can come over and have a good time but it still bugs me....

plans...plans
I still get stressed thinking of how much we have to do before the baby arrives...our nursery is almost finished but we still have a day or two of work there to be done (not including washing all the clothes). We need to do so much around the house that my head is spinning... on top I worry that we don't have much time to ourselves. I want to balance it somehow but balance is out of my nature so I have to try my best to stay calm. And yes, we are having baby shower on June 29 so more worries there!

my first Mother's Day
It was a great day! It started with Alex giving me a little card from our Danny and it brought me to tears! How cute and adorable it was! there was also a big bouquet of roses and piece of cheesecake that we all (3 of us:) shared!
Then we went shopping for presents for my mom and made her happy as those dishes were exactly what she wanted! Alex cooked dinner which turned out so yummy that I could eat my tongue! Cake was great too so I was full by the end of the evening but could have had another piece of cake:)
We showed our nursery to my parents and they liked the way it turns out, we also showed them all the clothes, etc. and gift registry for the baby - I guess they are not adjusted to the thought of being grandparents yet but I hope they will jump on board when the little one comes.
At the end of the night, I even exercised a bit so I don't feel that guilty eating all the good food and cake:)

baby registry!
We started baby registry today! I have mixed feelings about baby shower idea as it seems like I'm going to be doing it for myself. I guess we'll see how it goes and I just should not have much expectations but instead try to enjoy company of my friends and co-workers (if only it could be that easy not to have expectations).

tired! more shopping!
we went to Buffalo again on Saturday (May 2) and spent all day on our feet! My back was killing me by the end of it but we bought few things that we needed so I'm pleased. Now, the decoration of the room is going and we need to find decent dresser/changing table and also to buy glider to finish off the room. I wanted to purchase these items in US but it doesn't look like it's going to happen as they are just too big and not transportable in our small car. anyways, today is a new day - more things to do.

Ok, we finally repainted the nursery (actually, Alex did:) We decided to stay with the same color but just refresh it so it looks great now - no scratches, nothing! Now we have to finish with furniture, curtains and the room will be complete!

us shopping - tired but satisfied!
well, we spent all day in Buffalo today...and spent a lot of money:) We found great bedding set, all the accessories we wanted, some clothes, high chair, carrier, etc. I'm tired like never before - after all it's been almost 12 hrs of us going and driving places!

closet project
it's almost complete! It looks great, however we still need to go find some colourful applications to go on the boxes and then it will be done! Next step is US shopping which is going to happen this weekend. We'll go for a day and hopefully get some of the items we need - I don't want to get excited as every time I do, something goes wrong...so we'll see how it goes. I know that depending on the result we'll be able to finish the room as if we don't buy anything there then we'll get it here but I still hope to save us some money.

so much to do so little time
I don't want to get stressed but I think I'm getting there just thinking about how much we have to do and buy before the baby arrives. This weekend we finally started on the room project - Alex is working on the closet. Our house looks like a mess again as the furniture from the bedroom needs to be taken down to the basement, the clothes are everywhere and we have to organize our master bedroom closet to accommodate both of us. I think we should paint the nursery as I found couple scratches yesterday and it would be a great idea to refresh the colour. We still have to go shopping to the States, I have to start organizing things for baby shower if we want to have one....Man, I hope we'll survive!

Baby show this weekend
Oh, I simply can't wait - we checked the schedule and decided to go on Saturday, April 12 and spend the whole day there.
We'll try to see as much as we can as they have so much going on! I hope to find some good deals and learn a lot about different products and services we might be able to use.

baby shopping!
We bought changing table today! Great! One more item off the list. We also bought a changing pad and 2 little cute outfits:) We were so happy just browsing around looking through all the boy's clothes! Oh, and since we decided to go with safari theme (after all our little guy will be a Leo:) we bought him his first toy - giraffe! it's so cute and I can't wait when we actually begin working on the room so it all starts coming together!

3d/4d u/s
We had the best experience ever! The technician was surprised how developed our baby is as I'm only week 22 and they didn't recommend to do it so early. Our little boy (we now know for sure, we saw it with our own eyes:) cooperated and posed so nicely! He is soooo cute and was doing his best to get those shots done. I was impressed and had a tear eye just watching him moving around and trying to catch his feet, suck his thumb, etc.:) He was laughing when we said he looks like a mom and I have a great pictures of our little one smiling and laughing away. He even looked like he was waiving and I just can't express how happy we were watching it! It was truly the best anniversary present we could come up with!

Thursday u/s
I have asked my dr and he said it's safe to do 3d/4d u/s so we are going to do it as we planned on April 3 (our wedding anniversary). I would definitely hope the baby cooperates (but then who knows?) so we don't have to do one more later on. We want to get good pictures so we can keep these memories and send some pics to Alex's parents and my grandmother...
I also hope to confirm gender so we can start real shopping for the little one!

need to go shopping...for me:)
I will have to add to my wardrobe this weekend as I don't have enough items to wear to work, so I hope to find few reasonably priced things (skirt, shirts, etc). We'll also check the baby items everywhere again and get ready to go to the baby show (next weekend) to see if there are any good deals.

Ok, I'm getting excited but worried about the budget as it looks we are already spending too much!

3D u/s - can't decide....
Ok, this is just not fair as nothing goes the way I plan...I was going to do 3d/4d us on April 3 (our wedding anniversary) and called today to schedule an appointment.
I will be on week 22 then but they suggested to wait till the beginning of May as baby will be better developed. the other option is to do it twice (which I'm not sure I want to go through).
I was so excited and was counting days to see the baby and finally 100% confirm the gender (I still have my doubts regarding their first statement)...now I'm upset because I have to wait and perfect anniversary present we came up with is not going to happen...........:(

baby purchases:)
We ended up buying another stroller (Sears had a sale and it came even cheaper than the first one). So now we have 2 until we return the first one and I'm joking that I hope we only have 1 baby:) It was hard to resist buying a lot of stuff today as the prices were good but we just decided it's not the first and definitely not the last sale so we need to enjoy more than one day shopping:)
Oh, we also purchase little blue blanket for only 4.79!

wow, we are doing great this weekend - we really organized our house (we'll start the basement project now) and it looks almost spotless:) I am trying to come with the plan what else our house needs (besides the plan of getting estimate to finish our basement:)
Hopefully we are going to continue on and when the baby arrives we'll be somewhat ready!

Our first baby purchases!
Ok, it seemed to work better than we expected and while shopping we found few great deals: we bought a crib and a stroller! (overall we saved around $100 which is amazing considering how much we need to buy!).
Baby's R us had sales and we couldn't go wrong there - the stroller is Graco Deluxe tour system and the crib is convertible 4:1 (cherry finish) which was exactly what we needed.
We also got wiper warmer ($10 only - again saved $20:) so we are extremely excited!
We were going crazy looking at all the bedding, diaper bags, etc. but we decided to go cross border shopping (April-May) to see if there are any better deals there! Two big items are off our list, however we have to find a good change table to go with the crib as the one we saw today was very expensive and we want to do some more shopping for it.

Start of the renovations!
Good Friday came quickly and we started to put our plan of renovating and organizing the house into actions! So far, we made a decision on the bedroom that will be converted to the nursery (good thing, we don't need to repaint it:). Alex did such a great job with our bedroom: painted the ceiling, cleaned every corner of it and I was doing the same (except for painting) with the kitchen. Tomorrow, we'll go shopping for the crib and will be starting baby room. Basement and computer room is also in our agenda - I only hope we'll have enough energy to at least finish the main things we planned.

We decided to do 3D/4D us. I have my appointment on April 1 and would have to ask my dr what he thinks about it. If he approves, I will do it on April 3 as it will be our wedding anniversary so we'll make it as a gift to ourselves.
