GIRL!!! we are so excited to finally know what this baby is going to be. we had our anatomy scan done Monday afternoon at 17w4d, and the baby measured 18w2d, so nice and healthy! all her parts looked good, so we are so happy for such a good report. I was very worried about this scan the week leading up to it. i just wanted a healthy baby, no matter the gender. but now that we know the gender, i am feeling so much closer to this baby! although guys generally want little boys, i think my dh really wanted a little girl. very early on, he mentioned wanting a girl. then after that, his response was always very vague - i just want a healthy baby, the gender doesn't matter, etc. well, after we left the doctor's office and were in the car talking about names, i think it finally hit him, and when i looked over, tears were streaming down his face and he was smiling. it was really sweet. i can't wait to see him first hold her in his arms!
after the doc's appt, we went back to our house and threw a gender reveal party. since we got back late, i knew i wouldn't be able to bake and decorate a cake, so the weekend before, i took pink and blue suckers, unwrapped them, and covered them with green baby shower wrapping paper and yellow ribbon. i brought out the basket of pink suckers, and everyone unwrapped at the same time as i took pictures. i had also used a pink paint pen to color over the 'she' on snack size hershey bars, so i put those out once everyone knew (i posted a picture of those to facebook to reveal to those who couldn't be there) and colored my punch with strawberry koolaid to make it more pink :) it was a fun party. we served chili and a funfetti cake and had snack foods like chips and salsa, crackers and dips, the hershey bars, fruit, and nuts.

i went to my 12 week appointment yesterday and saw the baby on ultrasound. it was moving all around, waving its arms, and kicking up a storm! this kid is going to be my zumba buddy one day! it was moving so much, we could barely see it on 4D, which couldn't keep up with how fast it was moving :) the hb was 161, and it measured 11w5d, which was exactly what i was. i am getting really excited now!

at almost 5 weeks, i began spotting brown one afternoon and thoroughly freaked out. it never turned red, but i went to my doc the next day. we did an ultrasound, and everything looked like it should, although there was a little fluid near my pelvis. the doc could see fetal circulation, which he believed was a good sign. so i went home and worried for two weeks! :o) during this time, i began getting morning sickness at night. then, it became an all day thing. that was encouraging, so i put my fears away and just tried to focus on work. yesterday, i went to my follow-up appointment at 7w5d, and the baby's hb was 167 and was showing growth for 7w6d, so a bit ahead of schedule. the doc said mt cervix was enlarging appropriately and that everything looked great. i hope and pray that this one is going to be my take-home baby. i am due may 2nd.

i got my bfp yesterday, so here i go again! third time's the charm, right? i surely hope so. i am having a tough time getting negative thoughts out of my head about this pregnancy. i pray day and night that the baby aspirin makes a difference and that this one is sticky. please say a quick prayer for me and my baby. thanks!
