"We took our 2 and 4 year old boys to Storyland in NH again this year and reinforced what a perfect place this is for little ones. The rides are all appropriate for the little guys, and enjoyable for Mom and Dad too. Even at 7 months pregnant there was little that I couldn't do! Of course, it was all set in the beautiful mountains wqith amazing views and plenty of outdoor places to explore. I recommend it to anyone with small children!" -- NICKNBENSMAMA
"We took our first family vacation with some help from my in-laws!
Mothers know how to melt the hearts of their boys, encourage the dreams of their girls and still find time to be there for their own moms, sisters and girlfriends. For those of us lucky enough to have a mother in our lives, each day is like Mother’s Day.
Thankfully, our society sets aside one day each year to focus on moms: cooking what they like to eat, buying gifts they like to receive, and sharing words in cards and champagne toasts that remind them just how special they are to us. Take this opportunity to reflect on Mother’s Day as a daughter and a mother and share a favorite thought or memory with your BabyFit community.

"My Mother's Day was a wonderful time of spending quality time with the children and doing things together which is what I really love.
The customs are different here in Japan for Mother's Day, but we are learning to make our own customs and traditions and make sure they really mean something special to us!
"Let's see... Mother's Day this year...? I took DS to church with me (DH only goes for holidays and special events like if I'm performing). 22 mo old DS "made" me a card in Suday school, I had to trace his hands on the inside then he scribbled on the outside for me. Whe I got home DH met me outside and said he'd hoped to have more of my gift done by the time I got home but he would show me anyway. My gift was a ladder. Yes, a ladder. Oh and putting boards up in the rafters to make storage space t..." -- JNO225

"I wish I would have known how to take things a little LESS seriously....everything in the beginning to me was such a BIG deal....looking back, I was a mess of hormones and lack of sleep. This time around, I will take it one step at a time and enjoy every single minute. I wish someone would have told me how many washcloths babys go through! Or how its pointless to buy tons of newborn clothes. ! Or how you can mourn when your child weans from the breast ( I cried for days after we put Jacob on a c..." -- SARABEARA
"I wish I would have started doing my research about breastfeeding sooner, since my son came a month early. This was my first child and I was so unprepared, I didn't know that when your milk comes in the first couple of days are extremely vital and determine the rest of your supply. I would have been more dedicated in getting my son to latch on" -- JOHANNA2737
"I wish I would have known that no matter how much you plan, there is no way to control what happens when you decide bring another child into the world.
Before I had my first child, I never thought it was possible for me to have a child with severe disabilities, and I certainly never thought I would give birth to twins. It CAN happen to you.

"That breastfeeding is not easy. I thought it would just happen easily but my milk came in late and my daughter started to refuse breastfeeding. I didn't have a pump and I waited a day to send my hubby out for a hand pump. By then my body thought I wasn't going to nurse so in the end I never got my milk supply up especially with a hand pump. I didn't know it was all based on supply and demand. With my son, I left the hospital with a pump - he nursed wonderfully, my milk came in on time and I have..." -- TALTICE
"I love being pregnant, I wish someone had told me that the last 6-8 weeks of pregnancy you don't want to be touched at all. TMI I know but I cringed about the 34th week when DH wanted to make magic. I wanted to scream leave my chest alone. I do Love my DH with all my heart, and he is a wonderful husband, it was just part of being pregnant." -- #3UNKNOWN
A hard working Mom spends her energy and resources pouring herself out
for her loved ones. While expecting, she gives her body as a living
vessel that provides nourishment, warmth and protection. Even when she is
working on something completely unrelated to her child, she is thinking
about their needs and wants, development, milestones, birthday parties,
dietary restrictions, growing feet, etc. There is no overtime or hazard
pay for being in the trenches, but there are those moments when
everything calms down and we can enjoy the simpler pleasures of just
being a Mom. Post a blog topic about something wonderful, inspiring,
ironic, meaningful or just plain silly from the wonderful world of You.

As mothers, we show our love in all we do for our children and families.
However, when we are caught up in diaper changing, feedings, naps and
loving instruction, there is little time remaining to pause and reflect
on the ways our children touch our hearts and inspire us. Though we say
kind and loving words each day, we often don't take time to immortalize
them on paper.
Use this Valentine's Day as an opportunity to write a letter to the loves
of your life: your children.
Share your feelings with your little ones by writing a love letter to
them in the form of a blog post. Write about the first time you heard
their heartbeat or how much you love the hugs you get as they're running
out to play. Add a favorite photo and either read it to them or save it
to share at another special time.
Post your Valentine in your blog on your BabyPage, then share a link to
your blog by posting a comment on our BabyFit BabyPage. By posting a comment linking to your Valentine you'll be able to share your Valentine with your BabyFit friends, and may have a chance to receive BabyFit gear of your choice.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Healthy Babies Start with Healthy Moms" is our motto, so BabyFit is challenging the women in our Community to set a goal with that in mind. What can you do become a healthier mom in 2009?
Here's how to join the BabyFit Healthy Mom Challenge.
1. Set your goal. How will you be a healthier mom in 2009? Create a goal that is realistic for you. Consider nutritional, fitness or overall life management goals. Below are small changes that can make an impact on how you feel on a day-to-day basis.
Eat an extra serving of fruits and vegetables each day.
Limit sweets to one serving per day.
Reduce the amount of soda that you drink--or eliminate soda.
Drink eight cups of water a day.
Exercise every day for at least 10 minutes.
Do strength training twice a week.
Take a yoga or Pilates class once a week.
Learn a new form of cardio exercise.
Write in a journal once a week.
Read an encouraging article on BabyFit.
Meditate once a week.
Read one motivational or self help book.
2. Share your goal in a MommyTeam. Encourage our Community to hold you accountable. Post status updates throughout the year. Encourage other Team members to set goals as well. Be an inspiration for others; perhaps your goal will encourage another member!
Suggested MommyTeams to join:
Postpartum Weight Loss
Keep Fit During Pregnancy
Fit Mamas
Racing Mommies
Yoga Moms

Blogging or journaling on your Babypage is a great way to share what's new in your family to your friends and family members. Including a picture is also a great way to make your entry come to life.
Since friends and family can subscribe to your Babypage and get a notice when you make an update, they will always know when you have updated your blog/journal as well.
Another great feature is the ability for friends and family to reply to the blog/journal to let you know they have been there and shared in your life just a bit. So give the blog/journal a try as a way to update your friends and family in the new year.
