So far I have found the best baby deals at CVS and Target. Cvs has a lot of great ways to save such as when they have their deals of purchasing 30$ in certain products get 10$ back extra care bucks. They also have coupons that print out at the store when scanning your cvs card! Be sure to scan your card atleast once a week to get great coupons. Also don't forget to grab at least 4 Sunday papers a week. I use them for everything but when a great deal strikes and you have multiple coupons you can really make out. I use Coupondivas.com which they have a list of almost every store. Click on that store and they will have the match ups on the deals and where to find the coupons. They even teach you which way to use your coupons and such to get the best deal. It is very easy and very doable.

I got 4 jumbo packs huggies size 1 with 40ea, a 184 count huggies natural care wipes refill, gillette fusion proglide razor, 6 protein bars, 2 deodorants and 2 toothpaste all for 25.00 at CVS using coupons matched up with deals. Also I got 4 big boxes 108count luvs diapers size 2 from Target when they had a deal for buy 2 boxes at 16.99ea get a 10.00 gc. I already previously had a 10.00 Gift card from the week before and vitamin water was also buy 10 for 10 get a 5$ Gift card. My mom loves vitamin water so she was happy to give me 10$ to get them. What I did was buy the 10 and got the 5$ gift card (seperate transactions so you can roll your gift cards into your next purchase) So then I had 15$ in gift cards with my 10.00 one and the 5$ from moms vitamin water. Purchased the 2 boxes of diapers at 16.99 each which came to about 35 and change. I had 2 1.50 off coupons from the Sunday paper and Target had 1.00 store coupons for a combined 5.00 off the 35.00. Made it 30 then after the gift cards it was 15 and change for two boxes. Plus I got a 10.00 Gift card for purchasing the two which I used for my last transaction. I used my 10.00 gift card that I got from buying the last 2 boxes plus my 5.00 in coupons so I paid 20 and change again!. So out of my pocket I spent 35.00 and change on 4 boxes of diapers so broken down it was about 8.75 a box plus I recieved yet another 10.00 gift card to use next time for purchasing the last 2 boxes! That is how it is done coupondivas.com is a mommy saver!

I signed up my mom with Similac to get coupons. They send you formula samples as well. It really helps!

My son has been off formula for almost 9 months and I still get coupons.

My husband compared the ingredients to Similac and Target Up and Up formula and it's the same. It's cheaper to buy the economy size Target formula than to use Similac with the coupon. Just FYI. I don't work for Target! LOL.

Most, stores and websites offer freebies and definately coupons when yoy sign up for their registries. And depending on your income level...the WIC program should not be overlooked...feeding yourself, your householf, and a baby can all be very expensive and take funds away from other areas of which cash could be used.

I think babycheapskate.com has a lot of info on saving money on diapers and formula. I've been checking it out regularly just to get an idea on how to save on the things my baby will need.

I subscribe to the Krazy Coupon Lady e-mails and she has weekly diaper and wipes deals along with any formula coupons and stuff. She also has advice on her website about couponing and how to get the best deals around. You might also find a person who does local couponing in your area. For example, in the Tulsa area, there is the Money Saving Queen website where she tells you local sales specials and such. Google both of these gals to get an idea. The local folks also host couponing seminars to get you on the right track. Good luck!

I don't think it's silly at all to call the hospital. Our's provided everything for the baby, we only needed the going home stuff. Also, for me, they had the pads and all. You just need gowns, clothes, and your stuff for showering when they let you. But checking won't hurt at all. Plus, you get to take everything home from the baby, so you'll have the right size diapers for a day or so.

Hi Sophie and thanks for your info. I signed up on teh huggies website so should expect some coupons soon. Also, though I plan to breastfeed for a couple of months, I signed up on the Enfamil website too.
Also, how many baby clothes do you think I should pack in the hospital bag? I have kept two sets ready in the hospital bag, plus a few sanitary pads, two night gown, a few panties...what else would recommend? Also, do you thin I should ring up the hospital to ask them what they provide, or do you think its silly?
Thanks.

You can sign up on the manufacturers' websites for coupons. I also believe the hospitals sell your info to companies. I got a ton of mailers within couple of weeks of giving birth. Ebay is a good source as well as friends and family. I asked all moms with older kids to give me coupons that they weren't using. Now I give all my unused coupons to other moms at work.

For diapers, Amazon Mom is the best deal around if you use brand name like pampers and huggies plus you get free shipping to your house. Costco has a store brand that's a good deal. Sometimes supermarkets have a babybucks program where they give you coupons once you spend a certain amount - check with customer service.

And call your hospital to find out what's included. My hospital gave us diapers, ointment and sanitary napkins. I only brought a going home outfit for the baby with me.

If you are on a mommy team for your due date club, you can ask if anyone has coupons they are not using. I signed up for similac and enfamil coupons before having my son, and received them periodically in the mail. But I never used them, I nursed. So when I had a couple, I would post that I had them, and whoever responded first got them. I mean, it's like a stamp and an envelope to send them to someone who needed them. If you sign up on all the websites (pampers, huggies, etc.) you will eventually get coupons. If your baby does better with pampers, also sign up on the p&g site, and you'll get coupons. For diapers, I watched for sales, either babies r us, where you could get points for a free box plus use mfg. coupons in addition to the store coupon. Target has web coupons, so do some grocery stores, where you can combine store and mfg. coupons.

Hey Shannon
Its so nice to know that theer are thoughtfull people like you...I do the same when it comes to coupons in the mail and always leave them in our bldg lobby mail section, for people to use.

I will also check ebay as you say..I am getting exhausted thinking about diapers as I believe that one needs them hell of a lot for the first three months.

Oh Ok. I have ordered a pack of huggies but have not recd any from. The reason, why I ordered just a single pack was because I am sure what suits the baby. Do yoy think kI should put a few diapers in my hospital bag as well? I am 37 weeks and five days along? Any suggestions for Sanitary napkins.? Should I keep a pack of those as well? Again, the reason why I am askign is because I have no idea what the hopital would provide me?

You can sometimes find batches of coupons on eBay for like $1 or so. For diapers and formula, this is less than the value of the coupon.

Make sure that you cut them out of the newspaper and ask any friends or relatives without kids to do the same for you. If you have a freecycle type site near your area, check that out. On ours, people are always posting free formula and coupons.

Finally, an idea for when your baby is done with these thing, remember how hard it was for you to find coupons and help others. Whenever I have coupons for formula (which I don't use) or a diaper brand that I don't buy, I take the time to go through the store and place the coupon next to that item. I figure I'll make someone's day. I see that all the time at BJs, which I think is awesome and got me started doing that.

Love,
Shannon

I was also thinking on the same lines as to how to save on baby diapers. My due date is 5/12/12 so I am pretty close. I bought a pack of 36 ct Huggies but have friends tell me that I probably will be needing a pack every alternate day atleast. Is that the truth?
