"I have two children ages 11 and 9 and when my daughter was born it was they had to sleep on their sides only and than once my son was born they said stomach only.. Things change so much. I'm now pregnant with my third and they say now they need to sleep on their backs.. I'm thinking do they really know which is better? Also I'm wondering what the other mother was wondering, if bumper pads are bad why are they still being sold? Maybe they should put an age limit on the bumper pads being sold , so parents don't make the mistake of using them while the risk is there for their newborns. also i'm due in Jan/2010, how do you know your baby is warm enough if they don't have a blanket? I'm confused I guess.." -- SONGSTRESS - 10/14/2009 9:49:10 AM
"i read on other sids websites that bumpers are ok as long as you place the baby in the middle of the crib away from the bumper, and take it down as soon as the baby is able to lifts itself up or roll.." -- MISSMOMMY09 - 10/14/2009 12:48:49 AM
"Arg... SIDS keeps me awake at night... it's totally scary. And if crib bumpers are such a big no-no why are they still marketing them???" -- GYPSY_MOMMY - 9/1/2009 10:25:11 PM
"Even the thought of SIDS.. freaks me out. My daughter sleeps in my room, and will for a while. She does use a little baby blanket, and tends to like it over her head, I try to wake frequently to check her and make sure she is breathing.. Its an obsession now! We use fans too." -- MOMOF2BABIES - 2/26/2009 8:16:00 AM
"I'll admit that the very possibility of SIDS has become one of my greatest fears...every other fears I've had almost seem frivolous! I didn't know some of these things & appreciate that you share this information on BabyFit. Great article!" -- CODYNKOL - 11/22/2008 12:27:38 PM
