"I am getting itching during my 34 weeks of pregnancy. Really it is very worse.I found that Medimix Soap is very helpful for getting some 90 % relief from itching." -- SAANTHA - 1/19/2013 4:51:36 PM
"I have had the P.u.p.p.s. rash in my last pregnancy and let me tell you, NOTHING helped. There were no creams or aloes that this article is stating that could provide any relief. I tried everything and none of it worked for me. I ended up sleeping with ice packs or frozen vegetables strapped around my stomach, it was the only way to get an hour or two of sleep at a time. I was MISERABLE, I would rather deal with pain than that itch ever again. I am praying that it doesn't come back in this pregnancy! My Obgyn told me that she would be honest with me and said there are no creams that can help this type of rash, she said not to waste my money. Of course I had to try anyway because I couldn't bare it and she was right, nothing worked. They were going to induce me it was so bad!!!!!!!!!! My stomach literally felt like beef jerky! Ahhhhh I can't even imagine going through it again. Delivery was the only thing that helped and I was so happy to have an itch free body after that." -- FIT4_2 - 6/19/2012 7:15:09 PM
"I have been making sure to put non-scented lotion on that includes Vitamin E and Shea Butter in the mornings and before I go to bed. Also, I find if I don't wear the maternity bottoms that cover my whole belly (the underbelly belts...) they help, too." -- 2SURFSRH - 6/16/2011 3:49:36 PM
"I also got it a few days post partum on my first pregnancy. It was soooo annoying and the doctors in the hospital couldn't figure out what it was! It's only recently I discovered it myself. Oatmeal baths really seemed to help me and lots of calamine lotion." -- LITTLEBAYGIRL - 2/12/2011 8:50:38 PM
"I was prescribed a steroid ointment by my dermatologist which has provided little relief. It was supposed to stop the rash from spreading, but four days later it has more than doubled in surface area. I've been using Burt's Bees Poison Ivy Soap which helps a bit. I sometimes wake myself up scratching uncontrollably. After that I have been scrubbing down with the soap (just the bar, no cloth), which stings, but I feel like it is helping to keep it cleaned out. Sarna lotion with menthol is of huge help right before bed and right after a round of cold, wet compresses. Hope someone can use the info! I am MISERABLE but every few moments of relief is very appreciated." -- SOSSEFOSSE - 11/22/2010 9:13:54 PM
"I actually got this a week and a half postpartum. It is rare in that case, but still happens. I wish this article would have addressed this issue in case anyone else is experiencing this." -- THEORYBELL - 7/30/2010 4:17:00 PM
"I'm itching like crazy especially at night! It's aweful! This is my first pregnancy too and this article really helps assure me it's normal at least.. Still looking for more tips how to stop the itches though.." -- JOYFULBUNDLE - 2/15/2010 10:58:02 AM
"I've been getting short bouts of itching here and there. But when it comes, it's EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I find it hard to sleep because the itching seems to be burning into my legs and arms. I have been applying Aveeno oatmeal lotion during the day, especially after showers to keep my skin moist, and that seems to help. I also use an inti-itch cream with oatmeal at night.
A friend of mine actually scratched at her legs and developed stretch marks because of it. I'm trying to prevent that at all costs!!!!" -- LAVENDA - 9/28/2009 2:53:15 AM
"Ever since the beginning of my pregnancy, I have had a ridiculous amount of itching in my vaginal and pantyline area. Then it starts to moisten, so I'm chaffing. CHAFFING! My doctor recommended Tinactin spray to dry out the area and I'm using Gold Bond to soothe the itching but it's just too much." -- MOMMYREE83 - 8/2/2009 2:17:35 PM
"Im 26 weeks and I am scratchin like crazy I hate it. I never had the chicken pox but it sure did feel like I did. But its only on my legs, arms, and feet it look like bug bits but since I have read this article I now know wat it is becuz this is my first pregnancy. I guess I have to go get some hydrocortizone cream cuz I cnt take the itchyness" -- DWBFTDS - 5/22/2009 6:15:27 PM
"The not scratching is A LOT harder then it sounds. I was diagnosed with PUPPP at about 35 weeks and it was awful, worse then labor itself and I didn't have any drugs! 3 OBs including mine didn't even know what it was, she referred me to a Dermatologist who diagnosed it. I had it from neck down to my feet. He gave me a steroid shot because I couldn't sleep, I was itching in my sleep and NOTHING relieved it. I honestly tried everything they suggested here and none of them worked. The dermatologist perscribed a steroid ointment as well which felt like petroleum jelly and it kept the PUPPP at bay until I delivered.

Thank you for posting info on it! I'm glad to see people are acknowleding its existence. I actually first heard of PUPPP through this website from another user. It wasn't in any of my books on pregnancy either!" -- RHQTALUM - 1/8/2009 9:50:14 PM
