"Raw sprouts, such as alfalfa and mung bean can be contaminated and cause salmonella outbreaks. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration advises that pregnant women eat sprouts and mung beans that are cooked or avoid eating them altogether." -- TANYA_BABYFIT - 11/1/2012 1:13:55 PM

"I am 5/6 weeks pregnant at the moment, I miscarried in Novemeber so am really nervous with this pregnancy.
I wondered if you could recommend foods to eat for breakfast, I don't like milk and wondered if having bread every day is a good idea. I know healthy eating is common sense and I am happy to have salad for lunch and chicken with veg for dinner etc but I am finding that I constantly hungry and don't want to eat too little at the same time.
I used to be very active in the gym but have stopped since I found out, am I ok to continue with the gym but cut down on weights etc?
I am so worried that I will do something to wrong and end up miscarrying again.
thanks x" -- DELSWIN83 - 3/11/2011 9:04:39 AM
"To lillovedone1: I've been gaining weight at a fast pace too during this pregnancy (about 1lb/week if I'm not very careful with my calories--I think it's hormones too). It's really frustrating isn't it? I can't exercise much though because I have physical limitations. My doctor is monitoring everything I do on BabyFit, and he has o.k.'d me cutting back my calories to make up for the lack of exercise. Maybe you should talk to your doctor as well. I need to read the article suggested too, though...see what it has to say about this. Good luck!" -- WALLLFLOWER_HW - 2/10/2011 6:41:24 PM
"Here is an article dealing with faster weight gain that might help - "I Gained Fifteen Pounds in my First Trimester!": What to do About It" -- TANYA_BABYFIT - 8/30/2010 8:02:37 AM
"I'am 7wks and I have already gained 7-8 pounds. Upon my last doctor visit, she told me that is "far too much weight to gain at this point." I thought that I too was gaining too much weight. Although, I have been eating more than usually, I was shocked that I have put on so much so soon. I do go to the gym about 5x's a week and do a decent workout.
I was thinking maybe the increase in hormones is also causing the weight gain?? Dose anyone else feel or is experincing this same weight gain so quickly?? any suggestions or commets?? Thanks, Pari" -- LILLOVEDONE1 - 8/29/2010 11:19:07 PM

"This website was recommended on my Weight Watcher's Group Discussion Board. I needed a way to be able to still be accountable for my eating during pregnancy WITHOUT being on a "diet". This article helped me a lot with the Do's and Don't and gave me an answer to a lot of pending questions I had!" -- WNDRWMN39 - 7/1/2010 12:16:51 PM

"I think it is awesome encouragement for us women knowing that there are others out there who should be eating like us, and who are also eating and taking in the right nourishment for our babies" -- GOLFGIRL18 - 8/21/2009 1:39:24 AM
"I really like this article. The first two sentences really hit home with me: "Your unborn baby is entirely dependent on you for nourishment. What you eat now matters more than ever." I have been a bad yo-yo dieter in the past years and I realize that really has to change now before I get pregnant. I have to think about the nuturional value of what I eat rather than just eating what makes me happy. I realize that a lot of what we are suppose to do while pregnant (other than eating 300 more calories) is what we should be doing anyway! Now I have the motivation to eat healthy during ttc and for 9 months. This will can be a positive lifestyle change." -- CAROLINAGIRL81 - 7/5/2009 3:44:16 PM
