"It's easy to say "oh, he's a bouncing baby!" or "It's just puppy fat, she'll grow out of it". Or even "He's a little big, but he's tall for his age so it evens out" (when actually, excess calories contribute to unusual growth in height also). It's so much harder to recognise that your child might have something "wrong" with his or her weight, and that it is your responsibility as a parent because you are ultimately the one who makes the decisions over what and how much goes into your child's mouth. Having said that... I do wonder how many chubby kids really *do* just have puppy fat that they'll grow out of." -- CATHY_T - 11/12/2012 10:30:54 AM
"I was a bit confused when the doc said my son could be getting to big so watch his portions. He is 3. In my opinion i cant make his portions any smaller. But i see where with so many being at unhealthy weights its neccesary to check it out." -- MOMMANEE - 3/19/2011 8:55:30 PM
