"It's easy to say "oh, he's a bouncing baby!" or "It's just puppy fat, she'll grow out of it". Or even "He's a little big, but he's tall for his age so it evens out" (when actually, excess calories contribute to unusual growth in height also). It's so much harder to recognise that your child might have something "wrong" with his or her weight, and that it is your responsibility as a parent because you are ultimately the one who makes the decisions over what and how much goes into your child's mouth.
