Is it safe to take Alka-Seltzer for indigestion during pregnancy? |

Because it contains aspirin, Alka-Seltzer is not safe to take during pregnancy. Aspirin may interfere with blood clotting and cause problems during labor and delivery. However, check labels. Alka-Seltzer brand medicines that do NOT contain aspirin are safe. Over-the-counter antacids, such as Tums, Mylecon, milk of magnesia, and Maalox are all safe to take during pregnancy.
