  Is it safe to do sit-ups and other abdominal exercises during pregnancy?

  As long as your doctor has given you permission to exercise during pregnancy, it is safe to continue core and abdominal exercises.

After the first trimester, it is not recommended to perform any exercise while lying flat on your back. However, many effective exercises can be modified for safety during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters.
