I've been told it is not safe for small children to eat honey because of bacteria that adults can handle and children cannot. I'm pregnant so does that mean I can't have honey? |

Honey is safe to eat during pregnancy. To be safe, I suggest a pasteurized brand. However, NO honey should be given to children under the age of 1. There is a risk of allergies (bee pollen) as well as a risk of botulism (food poisoning). Becky Hand Licenced Nutritionist and Registered Dietitian |
