Are seated leg extension machines safe during pregnancy as long as I keep the weight low?

Leg extension machines are fine as long you are sitting up (as opposed to the machines that require you to lie on your stomach) and as long as you don't try and use too much weight. Make sure to use proper breathing techniques as you exercise (exhale as you push the weight and inhale as your return to the start position), and don't hold your breath. If you start to feel pain in your knees or lower back, either you are not positioned properly or the weight is too heavy. Check with a trainer at your gym to make sure you're positioned correctly.
