HAHA nothing, i love being pregnant, you cant get pregnant when you already are! :D

Anyway back to the real world, I was on the pill b4 this though. I would keep one pack of pills in my handbag or wallet (or whatever you think you will just about always have with you, I dont change my handbags often so a pack in the handbag suited me) then I set an alarm on my phone to go off same time every day to remind me to take the pill. It worked perfectly. I would also keep the pack lying in the bathroom so when i go brush my teeth i see it every night it reminds me again that am i sure i took the pill.

I got no side affect from being on the pill for about 3 years but my sister didnt get away as easy as i did. I would buy the cheaper brands and she would go all out paying top dollar for apparantly the best product, didnt do her any good though. Her skin had a horrible reaction when she went OFF the pill. Long story short, the skin on her face would start flaking off in peices and she couldnt go out in the sun becuase if she did she would get very large dark spots on her face. All cleared up now though... but i think she actually went back on the pill to make it clear up. Either way it worked.

Hmm, this is kinda long now isnt it....

I took Micronor while nursing my youngest and had no side affects/effects (whichever one that is) and I loved it. I didnt have any decrease of my milk or anything, but I also didnt loose any weight.

I did Depo after my first and let me tell you all I did was gain and retain water. It was awful!! I also bled for like 4 weeks from it too...so never again!

Now that I am done, I am back on Ortho-tricyclen and it stillis my favorite because it helps with my cramps and it helps curve the breakouts.

As with anything you do always ask your DR first!

And to the one that was asking about the YAS pill...no you cant take it while nursing!

Good luck to all you!

I've tried all sorts of birth controls and I think I've found the holy grail of preventing babies! The Mirena!! AHHHHHhhhhhhHHH... (Angels singing) I don't give two hoots if my insurance doesn't cover it, I won't have to worry about taking pills, remebering the change rings, putting on condoms and it slows your period so much that most women don't actually see menses at all! Gorgeous - I hate spending money on tampons!! Even if it is 500.00, I'll start saving now because for 5 years of no-worries - I'd pay 1,000.00! I just need to check with the insurance company to see if they cover it but I've already had my OBGYN write all over her file that I want the Mirena. They have an awesome website that explains a lot about it if you google Mirena IUD.

I'm going to talk to my doctor about this tomorrow. I'm really scared about taking birth control - I have never taken or used anything in my entire life. And that would be why my hubby and I got pregnant so soon! But we are not having another one for at least five years once this one gets here so we have to do something. I guess I'll be on the mini pill since I plan to breastfeed. How soon will they start you on birth control after you give birth? Can you take Yaz while breastfeeding?

THE DEPO SHOT ISN'T BAD AT ALL AND EVERYBODY HAS DIFFERENT SIDE AFFECTS TO IT. ME I LOST WEIGHT WITH THE DEPO, AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PERIODS WHILE ON IT. BUT LIKE I SAID IT ONLY LAST FOR TWO YEARS. AFTER THE TWO YEARS ITS IN YOUR FOR THE LAST THREE MONTHS. BUT ONE THIN I FORGOT TO SAY WAS IF YOU WAIT A YEAR YOU CAN START TAKING IT AGAIN. THEY SAY LET GET OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM (IT TAKES ABOUT A YEAR FOR IT TO DO SO.)AND YOU CAN GET BACK ON IT.

One thing you have to remember about BC is that non is 100%, there is always a chance that you can get preg on one.

Also i don't know if you are BFing but if you are make sure you tell your DR becouse you can not use all BC when you are BF, i am on the mini pill.

Best is talk to your DR about what you want and what your situation is. To remember to take the pill at the same time daily i just set the alarm, that way i remember.

GET OFF THE NUVA RING!! THAT IS WHAT I GOT PREGNANT ON! I had been on regular b/c since I was 16 (terrible periods) and never had an issue. I went on the nuva ring cause I was a flight attendant and never had time to take the pill at the same time everyday, so I switched. Not to be TMI here, but the damn thing popped out all the time...during pilates alot of the time, it happened during intercourse numerous times as well, and I KNOW i had that sucker where it was suppose to be. So if anyone is ON or THINKING of going on the NUVA RING...I HIGHLY sugguest switching or thinking otherwise. I am returning to good ole' Yasmin when this one comes around. NO more babies for us!

Well I don't start on birth control for a couple of weeks. But I'm definately taking the pill. Orthotricyclen (SP?) most likely. I've taken depo before I got pregnant and it made me lose too much weight. So I'm just gonna stay simple and go on the pill. We just gotta becareful and remember to take it everyday...

I got medical and Indian health so most birth control options will be covered. But medical coupons cover a lot and Planned Parenthood.

I got mine while I was still out of work (maternity leave) so I got it for free from Planned Parenthood. Alot of insurance companies will cover it just depends on what you have.

It is better to get it inserted after birth because your cervix will still be slightly open. It is a little uncomfortable during insertion but after labor its a sinch! I didn't have any problems such as bleeding or cramping afterward.

As for sex the other day we were having a little rough sex and afterward my bf was rushing me to cleanup cause he felt something pinch him... iud? Maybe don't really know. But that is the first time he felt that but we have had sex with it before. I never feel it.

It is as effective as the Depo. I think like 1.5% change of pregnancy. The string is suppose to soften and wrap around your cervix. I have never felt it but I have never tried to feel for it either.

Hope this helps.

I am now on the Mirena IUD for 5 years.

I WAS ON THE DEPO I LOVED IT UNTIL I FOUND I WAS PREGNANT. COMES TO FIND OUT THAT THE SHOT ONLY WORKS FOR TWO YEARS AND I WAS ON IT FOR SIX YEARS. BEFORE USING BIRTH CONTROL ASK YOUR DOCTOR EVERY LAST QUESTION THAT COMES TO YOUR HEAD. I DIDN'T ABOUT THE WHOLE TWO YEAR THING FROM MY FAMILY DOCTOR. I HEARD THIS FROM MY MILITARY DOCTOR. SO DONT BE AFRAID OF ASK QUESTIONS ESPECIALLY IF YOUR NOT TRYING TO GET PREGNANT TO SOON.

I was on depo for like 4 years and I loved it, with the exception of the quarter sized bruise I got from the shot. I only had to have one shot every 3 months and had no period. As far as the weight thing goes. I didn't gain weight in fact it helped me maintain my weight. I didn't gain weight until I got off depo. I don't know what I am gonna do after the baby is born, I'm still looking into my options.

I was on Depo for 3 years and I loved it. I didn't gain any weight that I wouldn't blame on my eating habits. I have heard of some people having bad experiences while using Depo but there are side affects with everything. I can't take the pill either because I always forget. I am going to be using an IUD after the baby is born. That might be something to look into because you don't have to do anything with it for up to 5 years (I think).
