Well, success. The thrush is gone.

The Diflucan for her wiped it out in her mouth (finally) and a couple extra days of Diflucan, combined with Pau D'arco (For me) and Udo's Probiotics (both of us) have helped tremendously.

I had yeast die off symptoms after I started with the Pau D'Arco, and then started feeling really good. I also used a few droppers of CS for myself to ward off mastitis when my ducts were really clogged up.

The Sovereign Silver Hydrosol I bought at the health food store is good stuff - worth every cent. I have used it for myself a couple of times and saved trips to doctor for antibiotics. (It's great for UTI's, blepharitis, and warding off strep throat!)

When the kiddo gets old enough she will be taking it too, she just doesn't know it yet.

Good luck to anyone else fighting off Thrush. It's nasty and painful, but in the end you'll whip it!

My Dad is a chiropractor & very much into natural healing. He has had our family on colloidal silver for may years. We don't however take it daily. He said that too much silver can build up in the body & actually turn the skin grey. This would only happen with daily excessive use. Anyways, he has a little device and makes ours. He ordered it froma canadian company here's the link http://www.sotainstruments.com/ori
ginal/silverpulser/

I am not too sure about dosing a baby. But, it has been a great help to us witha great many ailments.

If you are having a hard time getting rid of thrush, Grapefruit seed extract is a great remedy. It's the ONLY thing that worked for getting rid of thrush in myself and my LO. You dilute a couple drops in water and swab you LO's mouth with it. Also if you are nursing, swab your nips. You can also put a few drops in with your bras and t-shirts to kill the thrush on your clothes to keep it from coming back.

someone suggested using 1/2 tsp for infants, this colloidal silver site suggests different. Be sure to speak with an expert, dont go with what you read on these posts.

"Begin with the recommended amount of one teaspoon per day. Use half the recommended amount for young children and one fourth for babies.

After taking one teaspoon of Colloidal Silver daily for four days, adults may cut back to one -half teaspoon daily ( and proportionally, by body weight, for children)

The accepted method is for an adult to consume a 125 ml to 200 ml bottle of Colloidal Silver monthly, in any convenient increment any time during the month.

In the event a person begins taking Colloidal Silver while having a cold or flu or for any other virus, bacteria or fungus, - the daily amount should begin with triple the dosage ( one teaspoon three times a day) for three days, then follow the above regimen.

Some people will feel achy and sluggish on the third or fourth day after beginning Colloidal Silver daily. This is called a healing crisis. When the body sluffs off a great many entrenched toxins at once, the eliminatory organs can become overloaded in which case it is recommended to drink lots of extra water this will lessen the symptoms rapidly.

If a person, taking the daily amount, finds that he or she will still occasionally have an infection, one may even quadruple the RDD. There should be no danger of overdosing; however, very few people ever need four times the RDD. "

this is an old post!

there are several natural alternatives to trush, one is gentian violet --which has it's plus and minuses, but has been overall the recommended thing for me by LC's, and of course the usual boiling of eveyrthing and washing with hot water for clothes and stuff. We haven't done AB for trush. just 10 days of purpleness.

I haven't used CS for that, but we do use it for eye infections, my cesarean scar when it was healing, colds, etc.

If you don't feel a doc will give you advice on this type of treatment you could talk to a homeopathic type professional. They may want to see you child first and then recommend something but they may know off hand something that works better or the dosing information you are requesting. I would just ask a professional before giving doses out.

RAE3BOYS - I would seriously ask your doctor first. The PP is right, a babies system is very delicate - even though she was raised on it which I think is great to be able to steer clear of medication. But still ask a professional first, you don't know what kind of reactive your LO might have!

My baby has had thrush for a month. We've gone through nystatin and 7 days of diflucan for her. i've had diflucan for 14 days. (It came back in between perscriptions.) I just finished her last dose of Diflucan and She STILL has white in her mouth. I was told that the Diflucan is Systemic and it can take 3 days after the last dose before it is completely out of the body. (i've been taking the diflucan with Pau D'arco and probiotics. She's been taking probiotics along with me.)

I have Sovereign Silver hydrosol, which I have used on myself in the past for UTI's and yeast with great results - but just a little nervous about using and giving to the baby while breastfeeding.

I've come to "the breaking point" where I'll pretty much try anything to wipe the thrush out of her mouth for good. Is 1/2 tsp a day til it clears ok? Just afraid to disrupt her system too much more. Don't want to give her a healing crisis either.

My dad's girlfriend just brought me a whole $70 bottle when I called to ask where she got hers. Yipee. She has been taking it for years and says this is her favorite. Yipee!

girl4unu- you said 1/2tsp for a baby? what do you consider a baby? would you suggest that for a 7mo old? My dad's gf said she hadn't ever diven it to a baby before so she didn't know.

I do have a juicer, so I think I'll try the juice you mentioned as well. Thanks!

you can take it while breastfeeding or pregnant I did... it kills yeast, virus, and bacteria and it doesn't kill good bacteria... It does kill good bacteria in a dish but in the body it its absorbed before it makes it to the large intestine I have never gotten yeast infection from taking it ever...

babies are delicate and so are their systems I have a ton of experience with colloidal silver i was raised on it along with all 7 of my siblings... You want to give them about half a tsp... colloidal silver is very agressive at killing bacteria... I have never taken an antibiotic in my life and neither has my 10 year old son... Start with half a tsp a day that worked to kill thrush in my babies mouth in 2 days it was gone... also another immune system builder is juicing oranges and apples with lemon... take Astragalus it boosts your immunity and will pass through breastmilk...

I took it a few years ago and it worked wonders but I'm not sure on the dosage for an infant. I hope he feels better soon...good luck!

I've decided to take the advice of a Babyfit natural mama and try colloidal silver before filling the antibiotic prescriptions for me and my baby.

Does anyone have experience giving colloidal silver to an infant? What is the dosage? What brands do you recommend? How long and how often?
