My pediatrician reccommended getting ALL free&clear detergent, and wash both babies and my clothes in it to help clear up his pimples. I also started using the Huggies Extra Sensitive body wash on him instead of the Johnsons and Johnsons, and they cleared up within a day.

Sophie has this too, and yes, it spread...face to shoulders and belly. Face is cleared up now, and belly is working on it. No worries, this is normal.

my 3 week old has the same thing: reddish bumps that are tiny that spread from the forehead to the cheeks. It is a form of cradle cap and true it comes from us in our eighth month of preg. our hormones pass into the placenta thus making these hormones available to our precious little ones. There pituitary glands do not start working full blast to about 2-3 weeks old which is when these hormones manifest themselves in the form of acne/rash on the baby's angelic faces. Some docs day use selsun blue others say just leave it alone. I personally used selsun blue but diluted it with lots of water. The bumps dried out then scaled and then the skin was smooth again. But this is very common, disheartening but common.

Hi I'm from Feb. message board and my baby boy has a rash all over his face, it spread into his hair and on his shoulders. There are tiny red bumps. They are really red in the morning or after I wash his face and then they look like they are fading away but then they reapear.
I'm going to the doctor tomorrow and have to ask about it. He has it for about 2 weeks now and it doesn't seemed to go away.

ladies, ladies, this is normal. no reason to go running to the doctor's office. some cases are a little more than others and i know it can seem so terrible that your beautiful baby now has all these horrible bumps all over his or her lovely face, but it is all normal. i went to the doctor with my son who is now four in a frantic about his baby acne because i just knew it just had to be something else. this could not be normal for babies. but it is so don't worry. give it a few weeks and it will go away. i promise.

RYLEE GOT THE NEWBORN RASH ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. NOW SHE GETS THESE LITTLE PIMPLES THAT RISE FOR A FEW HOURS THEN GO AWAY JUST LIKE THE NEWBORN RASH OR HIVES OR SOMETHING. SHE IS STARTING TO GET A LITTLE ACNE ON HER FOREHEAD NOW TOO.

It kinda looks like acne, but not really (or a really bad case of it). It had moved to around her mouth now. So I think I am going to try to get her an appointment tommorrow. If it is baby acne it shouldn't be spreading should it?

THEY CAN LOOK LIKE PIMPLES, AND THEY CAN BE LIKE A WHITEHEAD ALSO,BUT JUST WASH WITH BABY SOAP AND THEY WILL GO AWAY. SINCE I NURSE AND HE DRIPPLES ALITTLE I KIND OF RUB IT IN WHERE HE GETS HIS RASH. IT GOES AWAY AND HE MAY WAKE UP WITH ANOTHER . IM THINKING IT WILL CLEAR UP IN A MONTH OR SO.

I was going to ask about my baby's rash, she's 5 weeks old tomorrow. It started yesterday around the left temple area and now there's some on her right temple and her chin.

Does your baby's rash look like little pimples? Some of them have gone down and are little red bumps now. Is this what you're experiencing?

It's been soooo long for me, I just don't remember my other children having this.

My Alexis has a rash that started on her forehead at about 2 weeks old. Now I have noticed it on her cheek. It is alot of tiny bumps, some are red, but most are not. I am wondering if I should call the doc and have her seen or if this is normal. I seem to remember my son having something similar, but that was 5 years ago and I am not sure.

Does anyone know?

PS - It doesn't seem to bother her.
