I was put on clomid because I wasn't ovulating every month. It can also help produce a stronger egg if you are already OVing. I just got lucky that I OV'd on a month that I wasn't taking it.

We charted for 6 months for clomid (tried for 10 months). My DR gave me one month and wanted me to have the HSG following the cycle after clomid (as well as an SA for DH).

This is why my RE won't give Clomid before monitoring the cycles to see if you're ovulating on your own. I'd say make them run the tests to see what's going on in there. If you have insurance coverage. Without it, it can get pretty expensive.

What have you done for your marriage today?? I'm putting my husband in his place. :)

DESMOND-
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't you on Clomid becasue you don't normally ovulate on your own?

Clomid is to help you ovulate, I took it a time back and its becasue I don't ovulate on my own. Maybe there is another use and I am not saying you don't ever ovulate on your own. Is clomid the first step in your fertility process? Maybe there is another issue to be solved and this one isn't it.

My Dr. always starts with the Clomid but I could prove that it wasn't working on my own, without it. Do you know if you do actually ovulate on your own?

Thats a good question. I don't know but I would think that if you were ovulating before Clomid you would ovulate after Clomid. I really don't think that it would cause any problems. Good Luck!

I have done three cycles with no success. If I don't take it this cycle, what are the chances are ovulating on my own?

TIA
