I would go to a beauty supply store-like Sally's Beauty Supply or similar type of store. They have different types of waxes--I have one for sensitive skin and one for bikini area.
Good luck!

Thanks for all the advice, ladies! I was really glad to hear from an esthetician, too! I think I'm going to go for it!
Has anyone tried and liked a good "at-home" waxing kit? If so, what kind and where's it sold? Also, do you have sensetive skin (because I do)?
Thanks a million!

I was told by my dr. it was fine as well.. the only thing said was that he wouldn't reccommend a brazilian wax while pregnant. I don't wax.. but was asking for some of my fellow babyfit friends.. They ended up shaving me when I was in the hospital anyway.

Waxing is fine during pregnancy-like others have said you will turn red. Even during the af times because of your change in hormones it will cause the skin to be more sensitive and turn red easier. Ice always helps the swelling and redness and put some unscented oil or moisturizer on following the treatment. (former esthetician)

I had a bikini wax done at 36 weeks! It did hurt more due to the higher blood volume down there and it did remain red for longer than usual. I was hair free for the birth of my son though and in the end that took away one more of my anxieties before birth....lol...kept having dreams I went in with a full bush and all the nurses kept laughing at me!
The person who did the wax for me, at a highly reputable salon, assured me there is no probs with waxing during pregnancy.

It is perfectly OK to wax while pg, yes it may get more red than usual do to the extra blood flow. But no it will not remove the skin. The only time that occurs is if you use things like retinal, accutane different skin clearing products dermatologist proscribed other than using those products its safe to wax.

I had my eyebrows done during PG w/no ill effects. It did seem like my skin stayed red a little longer, but otherwise everything was okay.

Hello,
I am wondering if waxing is safe during pregnancy. I heard it can be more painful because your skin is more sensetive (don't know if this is true), and I can put up with more pain. However, I don't want to remove skin with the hair! If anyone knows about this, please share! I have a tiny bit of hair above the lip (not very noticable, but it still bothers me), which I usually bleach, but I don't want to use bleach during pregnancy.
If one of the BF experts knows about this topic, I'd love to hear from you, as well!
