I used Huggies with my daughter and I love them. I also like the way Pampers Swaddlers feel. I might try them with this baby. Start saving coupons now, it really adds up. I am gonna have 2 in diapers.
This was one thing I found was worth the money in the begining to buy the more exp brand. Papmers Swaddlers are great for newborns - and their Cruisers as they get bigger too. DS never had a bad reaction - and never leaked. (yes - you have to point the penis down!)
As he got older - we did try White Cloud - and I honestly can't remember what I thought...
Pull up size - I used Huggies..
Just my 2 cents.

We're doing CD - I'm all about saving the money and environment. I got all freaked out when I read up about what happens to those poopy filled diapers when we throw them away. Ug.

I am going to buy pampers swaddlers to start off with. Then after that I will probably go with the white cloud. I can't afford to buy the others though and for the most part they worked for my boys. I hate luvs for some reason they leaked really bad with my boys. If I were you I would do trial and error to see what you like. I love the huggieswipes though.

from what i read, most of the moms say pampers are good for newborns, but i had always heard that a lot of babies are allergic to pampers. now i hear the same about hugies, so i don't know. maybe i will try a few brands and see. when my daughter was younger i remember using luvs.

Well how many should you buy of certain sizes? A friend gave me a bunch of size 1's b/c her daughter was so big and she outgrew them so quickly. All I know is that I can go through as many as 6000 in the first year but would you say size 2's are the ones they are in the longest? Just curious....

I think its funny how partial parents are to a certain brand of diaper, for the most part. I am no exception. I tried them all with my daughter and found Pampers to work best.

ALJL04- I say the same thing. I have bought diapers and we will do trial and error. Going off of what I have seen on other babies, I am a fan of the Pampers Swaddlers and the Wal-Mart, White Cloud or Parents Choice

I work in a preschool and have the not-yet-potty-trained kids. I have used them all and talked to all the parents about the different kinds. It boils down to this, everyone has their favs. Some people hate Pampers, some people love them. I say try out a few brands and find out what works best for you and your baby. I've liked Pampers, Huggies, Luvs, and White Cloud pretty well(I think that's what they were).

I did this thread already, somewhere on babyfit. ( probably under general discussions)
Anyways, I'm going to go with Pampers swaddlers for my newborn, and most likely switch to the Target brand. Most of the mothers here just raved about Target diapers if I remember correctly.
Also, you can do a search on babyfit for topics like diapers, and see what other threads had to say. Pretty much from my understanding, is it all depends on how your son/daughter is built--some babies fit into certain brands better than others.
Good luck!

Huggies usually leak on girls were pampers are super absorbant. Also, my son was good with huggies and my daughter was allergic to them. i will prolly continue to use pampers brand they work so well and i love the swaddlers they fit so perfectly.
Happy and healthy pregnancies to everyone!!!!!

huggies never worked for my daughter. they leaked horribly. same with kirkland. pampers were all i'd trust... but that was seven years ago so maybe they've improved since? and, oddly, i then liked the huggieswipes the best.

Amy Lee,
There is a trick they teach you at the hospital to keep the diaper away from the umbilical cord, and that is just to fold it down in the front.
So, two tricks to it if you are having a boy: 1. Make sure that you point his penis downward before securing the diaper (if it is pointing up he will just pee right out of the top of the diaper) and 2. Fold down the front until the cord falls off!

I will start with Huggies only because my sister works in a hospital and has given me tons of newborn and size 1s to start off with. Ive registered for Pampers through size 2, but will buy whatever after that. We had lots of luck with the Walmart brand with my first son from size 3/4 all the way into pullups, so will prolly go the same route. I am buying whatever is on sale now to stock myself up tho..come to think of it tho, will prolly be Huggies because along with what my sis gave, coupons were included as well!!

I think Im going to go with the Huggies. They have those Newborn care ones with the umbilical cord cut out part so it doesnt rub them. Im not an experienced mommie (yet) but I thought it was a good idea.

With my son we used both. Depended what was on sale and what my mood was. They both work great. I don't like the cheap diapers though like luvs and store brands, but hey when you're short on cash sometimes those are the best kinds.
