Thanks!! I will definitely look into getting some! I might see if my mom would be willing to knit some for us if I got her some patterns.

Thanks again!

Hi! i absolutely love wool covers and have used them since birth.

1. I have no answer to that question, since I'm from Europe, but you could try googling 'wool diaper covers' and you should come up with some providers.

2. NO, they absolutely DON'T leak! I was amazed at this, but neither the fitted wool covers nor the knitted pants ever leaked. They might get a tiny little bit moist on the outside and if your baby had been wearing them for a long time and peed a lot, you might notice a hint of moisture through the clothes, but nothig that would show anywhere else - it's just a feeling.

3. Taking care of them is a breeze. You have to wash them gently and impregnate them with lanolinbefore first use. Afterwards you may only need to wash them once a month (at least I do, the usual recommendation is every 2-3 weeks) + impregnate. It seems incredible and might to some appear to be unhygienic, but that's far from the truth! Wool, due to the lanolin, has 'antibiotic' properties - you only need to dry/air them out and with the moisture all the smell is gone. You can easily make do with just 2 covers per size.

4. They are a bit more expensive than PU covers, the fitted ones are usually more expensive than the pants, but they are so much better for your baby's skin - wool breathes much better and wicks the moisture away from the body, so you get less skin irritations (in fact my LO never had a rash when using wool covers). In my opinion they are well worth their money.

Additionally, though some might not believe that either, wool covers are much cooler in summer than PU ones. I tested this myself - I wrapped one hand in a PU cover and the other in a wool one and while the PU made my hand glow with heat, I could have easily tolerated the wool.

An idea: if you know how to knit or have relatives that do, you could knit wool pants yourself. You can easily find patterns online.

Hey everyone,

I have a couple of questions regarding wool diaper covers. I have seen them mentioned a lot on the boards but know nothing about them!

Where do you get them? Do they leak? How do you take care of them? Are they expensive?

Any info would be great!
Thanks!
