Hitomi can go a full day with out accidents, butshe still has accidents at night. Also some days she will have accidents just to be stubborn I swear! One day after her nap she was heading in the direction of the bathroom, so I smiled at her and asked her if she was going to go potty. She told me, "No. no potty" Then turned and walked back into the living room, sure enough with-ing 15 minutes she has an accident. I'm quickly learning that she is not a 'morning person'. One day we'll get past this stubborn streak (at least where it is directed potty-wise). She absolutely throws a fit about wearing her diaper at bedtime, but she can't stay dry all night yet and doesn't wake up to go potty so I'm sure that doesn't help.

My favorite sound in the world is the laughter my daughters share.

Ariana Elise arrived on May 24, 2010!

I'm planning on bringing him to the gym tommorrow in underwear.

It's such a pain though. Just now I went to wake him up from his nap and he had pulled his diaper off and pooped on the floor, then fell asleep in it. I had to give him a bath and then scrub the floors-yuck.

Roxx - when my son did this, his daycare told me to bring him in undies the next day, because his interest in potty training is high. That was the last day I sent him in diapers! :) He still uses them for during the night, though.

The daycare's method is to constantly (every 45 minutes) remind him to go to potty, but not force them, because the kids tend to forget about it while they play. Eventually, they remember on their own.

Good luck!! :)

Preston peed in the potty twice yesterday. Once all on his own. He was in diapers today for church, but I'm hoping he continues with it. If I'm lucky, maybe by the end of this week.

Yay Mandy is potty trained! At least during the day now. I introduced the potty 6 weeks ago and she's finally going all day without a diaper.

Ashlyn was interested in the potty since before she was 2 but she would never go IN it. Everyone said to put her in panties and when she peed on herself she wouldn't like it and would start using the potty. Didn't work! Tried naked from waist down, she didn't care! Tried bribing her with candy, she didn't care!

Then the day she turned 2 yr 7 months I did the naked from waist down again and she started whining for a diaper so I said no lets go to the potty. If you use the potty I'll give you some candy. She did and when she saw how excited I was, the rest was history! I only had to bribe her with m & m's for a few days and it only took her 3 days to be fully trained!

Bottom line, make sure they're ready! I knew Ashlyn was ready because she didn't like poop in her diaper, she would ask for a diaper change and she whined for a diaper when she didn't have one on so she could pee in it. That tells you they know when they have to go.

Good luck!

For Adrianna I just had to wait until she was ready. I kept a potty chair out so she could get easy access to it whenever she wanted to and when she was ready, she started using it and hasn't looked back since. She was about 2 years old when she potty trained.

I brought Brooke the kiddy toilet seat to put over top the toilet and she loves it. It makes her feel like a big girl so she asks to use the potty allot.

KK is still not interested. She is terrified of the potty. I'm hoping that she'll be as easy as Ashlyn and Adrianna were though. I have my doubts.

Haha! So funny I posted that. Three days later she started using the potty and is pretty much fully potty trained now. Six days after I posted that last post!

Believe me ladies. Wait until they're ready. Once they are ready it seriously only takes a few days!

Not here.

I'm praying Ashlyn will be potty trained before she goes to school.

At this point I'm not willing to say she will be!

Wow, last I posted Kayla had zero interest...now she's potty trained! Or mostly, I still put diapers on her overnight or when we're out (I'm not THAT confident yet). She hates the pull ups, but even if she has a diaper on, she's now well aware what she has to do and will pull that thing off. We even went poopy all by herself this weekend!!!

Nope... I don't know why, he used the potty before for #2 a few times, but now he refuses it and I don't want to push it. I'm pretty confident that by the time he's 6 he will be potty trained... sigh

We are potty training but I would not say Jameson is there yet. He will do #1 and #2 on the potty but if you don't remind him to go to the potty he will use his pull up. I am hoping by the summer time he will be there since we got another coming in July! Fingers crossed!

Wow it's great to see a few of you who are in the AUG 08 board here to. I think potty training would be easier without a baby. I feel like I don't have time for it.

DS peed in the potty today! That was after he peed in the kitchen that morning and pooped on the floor next to the toilet. If I didn't have to care for the baby he would have done it in the toilet. Still peeing is a big accomplishment. I made a big deal about it and gave him a jelly bean. Maybe it will spark his desire to do more than sit with his clothes on. I tried putting one of DD old pull-ups on for nap but he wanted the diaper. He didn't like the fairies, and had to have MICKEY MOUSE.

LAFLEURIE-that's funny about the zoo. My face would have been bright red. It's better than what a friend of mine calls it. The girls are toot-toots and the boys are peckers.

Lol, Kristin that's a cute name for it! I usually tell Noah to call it his pickle, but my hubby is very precise and tells him to call it his penis. No fun!

P.S- has anyone elses little ones begun talking about their private parts much more since potty training? we went to the zoo the other day and Noah saw an elephant pee and started exclaiming "Watch it pee watch the elephant pee! pees from his penis! penis penis!!"

I seriously about died.

Amira is pretty much in the middle...she will go pee on the potty sometimes, but then gets distracted with her brothers and forgets. She is pretty good at telling me though when we are out of the house. I am just hoping that she will be fully potty trained at least by her 3rd birthday if not sooner.

My LO is doing great with potty training. Until a couple weeks ago my son wore diapers and would pee on the potty throughout the day but also in his pants. He pooped on the potty a number of times before his brother was born, but since then he would never poop on the potty. He began saying 'change poo' and could say potty terms quite well. I was sick of changing his poopy diapers and decided it was time to step up his training. I made him go pantless and diaperless and he pooped on the potty! And has ever since. After about a week and a half of nakedness, he started wearing underwear or training pants during the day. After about a week of that he now wears his underwear with pants. He still wears a diaper/pullup at naptime and bedtime. Many of his diapers have been dry when he wakes up, however he has a few wet ones still so we will continue with the diapers for a little while longer.

We were *almost* there, until this past winter when Kayla got sick, now she won't even sit on the potty! I really wanted her potty trained before #2 came along, and now I'm afraid that won't happen. I plan on really trying once I'm out on disability in June.

It's so hard because at daycare there are others her age and older but NONE of them are interested either.

However, she's really been talking about going to school lately - she wants to go so bad (???) And I keep telling her that she can't go until she's a big girl and goes on the potty. That's actually making her think!

Definitely not here! He does really good at school but not at home. We started really trying a couple weeks ago but he got to stressed out. I am going to wait until summer to try again.

We've just started getting serious with the potty training and have such a loong way to go yet. I'd really like to have her trained before the new baby comes in June.

Adrianna has been pretty much potty trained for a few months now. We still put a diaper on her at night JIC but has only had a couple accidents. I am hoping my second is just as easy to potty train too!

Good luck!!

Just wondering who's 2 year old is potty trained.

Mine likes to sit on the potty and go through all the motions, right down to washing his hands, except his clothes are still on. I know that's a start but I would love to move it along. My DD was already using the potty all the time by this age and DS only has gone maybe 3 times in a year.

How is your LO doing?
