I was going to post about stitches that just won't go away... I'm 5 weeks PP in 2 days, and I think that 1 of my 3 stitches may have fallen out or dissolved or whatever in the past day or two, but I'm sooo ready for them to go away. We've decided not to do anything "frisky" until they come out, since presumably that's when I'm all healed up... on the one hand, I don't want to re-injure anything, but 5 weeks is getting to be a long time...

When I went for my 6-week checkup on Friday, mine were still there. They finally fell out 2 days ago.

Renee,

If the stitches are bothering you that bad, call and see your doctor. I was in such pain from them that I went in twice (once to see the stupid doctor that delivered me, and then once to see my actual doctor). The first doctor told me that I was just healing, and there was nothing you could do. I went back the next day because I couldn't even get out of bed, they hurt SOOOOOO bad. My doctor actually pulled out a stitch that was at least 3 inches long. It wasn't desolving, and I was already healed. Essentially what would happen is every move I would make would pull the stitch through the healed tissue. Once he pulled it, I was good to go. Warm baths also help with the disolving aspect. I think I was 4 weeks pp before I was "completely" healed. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

I'm 3wks out and still have all of my stitches. She put in about a dozen in what seems like completely random places!

Mine were gone around 2 weeks. I had 3 stitches, and I was worried they would bust too! I was so glad to have them dissolve.

My last one dissolved at three weeks...most of them did before that though. They are annoying! I felt like they were going to rip every time I sat down. boo!
