We were in Milan, Italy on our Euro honeymoon. As always we stopped at the electronics store to check out what they had to offer and saw 1st tower being hit on at least 30 TV's...I can still remember my reaction to the horror...I thought it was some movie and even commented on odd choice of movie in the store...
It was also impossible to call anyone in US, considering that we live so close to Manhattan and so much family and friends work and live in Manhattan...Luckily everyone got home eventually...Sad times...

We were in Germany at the time. I had gotten out of the hospital from having Ryana on the 9th and had to go back in due to her jaundice on the 10th so on the 11th we were finally coming home with our healthy baby. When we got back to our housing we were glued to the tv for days. They locked the bases down and you couldn't get on unless you were essential personal, also they started blocking off our streets and having our streets patrolled by armed soldiers to protect the families unless they decided to start attacking army bases overseas. I talked to my class yesterday about it and I still tear up.

We were living in Guatemala at the time. Our hot water had gone out, so we had gone next door to take showers. When we were headed back to our house one of the Guatemalan workers in our complex stopped us and told us that NY was on fire and under attack. We didn't understand everything he was saying because it was all in Spanish and our Spanish wasn't real good yet. We got ready and headed to the office to find out what was going on (we didn't have a TV). Some of the other missionaries had cable, so we spent the whole day at their house watching the MTV channel because they were the only ones who brought in English CNN to cover the story. It was strange for us because we felt disconnected since we weren't in the States. We ended up having a lot of meetings about evacuation and where we would be sent should Guatemala become unsafe for Americans during the time.

I was on my way to high school. We heard about it on the radio and thought it must be a joke. We watched a lot of news that day in class.

I was sitting on my couch, breastfeeding kaylyn when dh called and told me about the first tower. so i turned on the news. and saw the 2nd one hit . . .scary. kaylyn was only 2.5 weeks old and i was terrified at the sight of what was going on.

I was at a three week training course for work in CA. I had just flown in two days prior, and needed to fly home in three weeks. It was really scary. I was away for so long and had a hard time with being alone in a hotel during all of it.

I was working from home like I was today. I didn't have the tv on so didn't know anything had happened until I got an e-mail from a colleague in Germany asking me what in the heck was going on...he was the one that told me anything had happened.

I was sleeping when the first attack happened, but woke up just in time to see the second plane hit. I stayed home all day glued to the television.

I was at home watching a movie on demand. My mom called me and asked if I'd heard, we then sat on the phone for like 2 hours watching everything and talking. Once we hung up I realized I'd been on the phone with her that whole time and never wished ehr happy birthday! Yeah my mom's b-day is today, 9-11....
