I know how to do this I learnt it as part of my first aid. You use a wet cotton ball and wipe it outwards towards the corner of the eye (with babies eye closed). If this doesn't work you can use a cup of water, hold baby over a bath and pour the water from the nose outwards and it should wash the stuff out of their eye. Hope this helps.

let me remember let alone discribe how to get it out i would work it out outwards or downwards i would rub the eye gently enough to move it but not scratch the eye, if you can get it on the eye lid or edge of the eye you may be able to get it out you may have to open the eye a bit with your fingers or a q tip or you could just let it work itself out
good luck hope i didnt confuse you

Okay, if this doesn't scream first time mom: LO has a piece of lint/hair in eye. It's on the colored portion. How do I get it off? She won't open her eye when lights near or rather light is bright enough for me to see. I don't want to be over dramatic and call MD first thing, but I can't get her to open up.
