I take too many I'm sure. Yikes, only 8 a day on the bottle, I was so uncomfortable I never worried about whether I was taking too many, *sigh* antoher question for the doctor.

Actual birth date 9/2/06 by C-section after 37 hours of labor!

Beautiful baby girl, who was (I can say now almost 6 weeks later) was totally worth the labor.

My doc just said they are ok to take (they are kind of like vitamins because they have all that calcium in them...). I usually end up taking 3 in the morning, 3 around lunch, 3 when I get home, 3 before I go to bed and 3 in the middle of the night.... That makes 15.... Hmmm..... I feel a lot better though..... Doc hasn't said anything about it, just to take them when I need them.....

I asked my doctor a few weeks ago because I was eating them almost all day long and I especially needed them in the middle of the night.

My doctor recommended Pepcid Complete and it works GREAT! It lasts up to 12 hours. Its pretty rare that I need to take a tums anymore now that I take the Pepcid twice a day. It not only controls the heart burn but also helps to break down the acid. Our little ones are getting big and as they move, they tend to push that acid up to where it burns. Won't be long now.

my doctor told me I could take as many as I want but not to go too crazy with them and give them time to work and she suggested taking them before I eat and go to bed

I am not actually sure but when I talked to my dr about my heartburn, he reccomended that I try gaviscon and that it worked better than tums. I would ask your dr before taking more than what is reccomended on the bottle.

Sorry, I have no idea, but the whole bottle is probably not a great idea. Guess it's a good question for the doc.
