You girls made me laugh hard! Love the "jelly toast" line. I will have a hard time singing that song from now on!!
Michael's pre-school class is learning this song for the Christmas Concert. Can't wait to hear what they come up with! Michael has already told me he's not going to sing, only hum!

That's funny! I'll be thinking of jelly toast when I sing that one this year...
I always thing the lines "thus spake the seraph and forthwith appeared a shining throng" (in While shepherds watched) was put there as a tongue twister for those who have come straight to the Christmas Eve midnight service after spending the evening in the pub!

lol...seeing that makes me laugh. when i was little, i didn't know the words to the song very well so i sang this to my entire family on christmas day (gma/pa, parents, aunts/uncles, cousins, et al)
instead of "with angelic host proclaim" i sang at the top of my voice, in full confidence:
"with a jelly toast proclaim,Christ is born in bethlehem."
yeah. to make matters worse, they clapped and laughed hard and i thought they were just cheering for me. they encored me. i repeated it. it was YEARS before i realized my mistake. i was probably at least 8 or so before i realized my mistake. fun times. i can't hear/sing the song w/o laughing to myself or singing my version in my head. lol.

I've been preparing Sunday school for the first Advent Sunday (tomorrow) and my theme is Angels, so we hav an angel craft and stuff. And I thought, maybe they'd like to sing an angel-themed carol. So now I've been looking them up to find which might be most suitable and I'm feeling all Christmassy! That's the closest emoticon to an angel!
