Nance, K was born at 36.0 but his lungs were more like a 34wkers. He was able to come home after two wks. I hope your lil guy continues to do well and comes home to you and the fam shortly. Congrats!!!

Hi Ladies!
Well, I made it to 36 weeks on the dot. My water broke Saturday night and I was induced Sunday. I had a 40 minute labour, pushed twice and had a 5lbs 20z baby boy. He wasn't breathing at first, then was breathing too fast. He's still in the NICU and I was just discharged today due to my bp. The cord was wrapped around his neck and it had 2 knots in it - so eventhough I didn't feel him much, he was moving around a lot! He's doing better day by day :). I'll write more after my nap.
xoxo,
Nance

Congrats on another boy Cathy!!! I'm excited for you!!! And I'm especially excited that he is healthy and doing well :)

I did get the flu. Still have it. It sucks. GD, Carpel Tunnel, 1/10 chance of Spina Bifida, horrid reflux, nausea & vomiting, zits everywhere, fluid everywhere, high BP... and now the flu. I'm DONE! I had a NST tonight and my OB was on call. My official induction date is Feb 18th, but I have another ultrasound on the 8th - he promised that if there was anything remotely out of the normal range or even close, that he'll induce me sooner. Baby is 5 lbs now - so by the 8th he should be around 6 or 7 lbs - which is a great size!

I'm excited to hear all the positive news about your babies growth and development! You ladies are coming into a fun time in your pregnancies... the bumps grow over night and that 2nd trimester glow takes over :).

xoxo

Ooh Nancy I hope you avoid the flu! That sounds like something you do NOT need right now!

Funny how you were just posting the other day that your LO is a quiet baby and doesn't move around a whole lot - and then the one day you want him to stay still, he's a lil jumping bean! Sorry you had such a long appointment though.

I haven't been on in a couple of days because my pc blew up. Literally! It went BANG! with a big blue spark. I'm on my laptop at the moment., which I had to dig out and recharge. It's a lot slower than I remember!

My big news this week is that I've had my scan and it's a.... healthy baby with all it's parts in the right places!

Just teasing you all. It's another BOY! I confess I am a little disappointed, but not surprised, if that makes sense. I had been saying that if it was a boy this time I was done, since I haven't enjoyed this pregnancy a whole lot. But now that I know it is, I am pretty sure I'll try again for a girl. Of course, there are lots of pros to having a hat-triock of boys. Nothing pink and frilly is required. We can hand down all the clothes and toys. And I don't need to learn the intricacies of changing girls' diapers! We just have to figure out names!

Nance, I hope everyone recovers from their flu and that it skips you completely. You don't need anything else this pregnancy!

Cathy and Misty how are you both doing? Cathy have you booked your big anatomy scan yet? We go on the 11th of February for our. We should have gone earlier, but Sofia has a Dr's appt out of town on the day they booked it so now we have to wait!

I finally broke down and started wearing my maternity clothes this morning, and they are so comfy!!

Hi Ladies!
Well, yesterday was interesting. We spent from 10:30am-6 pm in L&D triage. This little stinker was not behaving himself and thought it was hilarious to move around a whole lot.. The NST took about 5 hours to complete!!! My BP was 140/95, but my blood work was fine and my urine didn't show any protein. They basically said I will go pre-e, it's just a matter of when, and I need to catch it right away. I also got to have an ultrasound (for the 2nd day in a row). The sonographer was so cute - young gal and kept saying things like - "OMG, he's sticking out his tongue!!" lol. I go back again tomorrow. The flu is going through our family. Monday started with a trip to the ER with Amelia because she couldn't breath properly. Now Brooke is sick, and I'm coming down with it too :(. I just hope that I can recover in time for when DH gets it!

How are you guys feeling?

Oh Molly I thought you were going for #4!

Nance I'm praying that your little boy can stay put for as long as possible and you get some rest and that your BP goes down. I would also ask about the steroid shots and see if they are going to do them closer to your delivery date. Hugs

Hmm, well Isaac was just fine at 35 weeks, although you don't need the stress and worry! I hope you get past 37 weeks! Will they be starting you on steroids for your lil guy's lungs or anything?

Thanks for asking Jeni - NOT coughing is a wonderful thing and I heartily recommend it! I would say it's 99% better. And I FEEL 100% better - I hadn't realised how low and run-down I felt before Christmas until I started feeling normal again!

This baby is sitting so low so that I have trouble going to the bathroom! I hope s/he pops up a bit soon! I'm in the maternity pants since all the regular pants squash me right where the baby is. I'm up 6-8lbs, which is fine, and starting to gain at the prescribed rate. I'm enjoying chocolate again but still can't stomach apples.

Nance I hope that you start feeling better, I have the exact opposite with my BP, today at my appt it was 87 over 54 - mine is always so super low that the Dr.'s worry because of that.

Misty congrats on having another boy, just think of how close they will all be.

Cathy how are you doing? is the cough all gone yet?

I just got all of my test results back and the baby is doing great a little small, but all my babies are small! The funny thing is I'm almost 18 weeks and still wearing all of my regular clothes, I keep wanting to go and buy some comfy mat pants but I don't really need them yet. I just hope I don't wake up one morning with a huge belly that popped overnight!!

I saw my OB yesterday. He scared me a bit because he's a more relaxed OB, but not with me anymore :(. I'm being seen every 2-4 days by either my OB, Endo, NST, or Ultrasound until the birth. He has told me to have my bags packed and in my car because it's likely that after any given appointment I'll be admitted to L&D. He doesn't like that my hands and face are so swollen. Given that I have GD, lots of swelling, a high IPS result, BP that is creeping up and that he is still feet first and head in my ribs, and a very quiet baby that doesn't move a lot, the OB wants to be ready for anything.

So today my dad is coming for a couple of hours and he's going to take care of the girls while I go buy some new nursing bras, decent pj's and other stuff.

Misty - I totally understand the 'too much to do'... I have a lot to do, but not energy for it!!! I didn't have BP issues with any of my other pregnancies - I think it's just the way I carry boys. My sister is the same way. I didn't go early with Brooke, but they induced me at 38 weeks for Amelia due to the GD.

hugs re: BP nance!!! i've never had heart related issues, but dh has and i know it can be so hard. i hear ya on bedrest!! it would almost be a luxury at this point to be ordered to lie in bed!!! but then again, there's just so much to do!!! sigh!!!
i hope you can get some rest (prescribed or not) and that meds or whatever will kick in and get you feeling better. did you go early w/ the previous 2 for bp issues?

oh nance i'm sooooo soooo sorry you're having a rough go of it. i just can't wait for you to have him on the outside and able to love on him w/out all the inside difficulties!!! and since i'm now on an antid i agree--i dont know how i was surviving before (well, just barely). i'm so so glad i finally asked for the help i needed!!!

and i hate to say this right on top of your woes, but i'm having the best pg ever. my #s are great, i feel well, i've lost ten pounds, and baby is healthy. and if any of you didn't see on fb, we're having a 4th boy!!! i was really disappointed for a few minutes in the car, but i got to grieve out loud and then i was totally ok--still am. i'm excited! and technically, it DOES make my life easier!!! the problem is we have NO boy names!!!

anyway... we're doing good. i am praying for all you ladies and the rest of your terms. love

a girlfriend of mine (in England) just had a baby this morning. 9lbs 10oz. The baby is having trouble breathing :(. Prayers or good thoughts for them would be greatly appreciated.

Next week I see my OB, endo, have an ultrasound and a NST. I'm feeling depressed lately. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I wasn't on the Effexor.

I can't believe that we'll have this baby next month! I want to try to enjoy the rest of this pregnancy as much as possible, but it's getting harder to enjoy.

Today thought both of them are walking around with teddy bears stuffed up their shirts pretending to be pregnant. LOL

I think we may have discussed it a while back. I think I said something like "there's another hole next to the holes where the wee and poo come out - a different one". But (being a boy) he's not that interested - now if I were having a train or a digger, that would be different!

Glad you are feeling a bit better.

I've been away with the boys to visit my parents. Poor DH, meanwhile, has had the flu. Still, at least we weren't around to catch it, and he was able to rest quietly without having two boisterous small people playing Jump On Daddy.

My doppler arrived but either it's not very good or I'm not good at working it or this baby likes to hide, as I haven't found the heartbeat yet. I have felt a few wriggles though, so I know something's alive in there!

Misty I know what you mean. I've been showing since early on but haven't gained a lot of weight - maybe 2lbs. I'm sure I should've gained more by now! I've also been worrying (after last year's m/c) about every little twinge and my most recent is that from 14-15 weeks I was feeling flutters most every day, but the last week or so nothing. I even ordered myself a doppler so I can try and listen for the heartbeat! I hope it gets here soon! My next midwife appt is not until next week and (with two public holidays) trying to get a doctor appointment this week is NOT going to happen! Can't wait for my scan - but have to!

Yes, time is rushing by! My next checkpoint is Nathaniel's birthday in Feb, then Mother's day in March, then Easter and my dad's b'day, then mil's b'day in May, DH's in June and baby might be here by then!

i know this might sound like a silly fear, but i also know that this is the right thread to post in b/cs hopefully y'all will understand! i've never really been one of the worry-warts when it came to being pg, even the first time around. i kind of naively just assumed everything would be fine, and so far, of course, it has been. and of course, when we found out we were pg w/ #4 we were both elated and i just settled in to enjoying the ride as much as possible. i grew at a very quick rate at first--i joked that basically as soon as we saw 2 pink lines that my belly popped out, and that's the way it was for the first 11-13 wks. but seriously, i don't think i've gained a pound at all this month, and i don't feel as tho my tummy is any bigger than it was last month. dh thinks i'm losing weight, but he's probably just being nice. i know i probably wouldn't be worried if i hadn't had to miss my dec appt b/cs of being so sick, and i've rescheduled to go in next fri (earliest avail) so i'll be 20 wks and can def get my sono then, so i'm excited about that... but really, i'm just anxious for reassurance all of a sudden that things are ok. i'm not sure if it's just a "we've been lucky 3 times, what if this time we're not?" mentality or what.
anyway sorry to be kind of rambly this morning.... just can't wait to meet this little peanut inside of me!!!

and sort of off topic: does anyone else feel that now christmas is over that time is rushing by?!? i feel like w/ all the little checkpoints in our new year it'll be may before i know it.. ex dh's bday in jan, anniversary in jan, nephew's bday and v-day in feb, gma and friends bdays in march, april is easter (perhaps?) and bam ,it's springtime!!!

OMG my hands and fingers are giant sausages! This is painful! I cannot bend my fingers or wrists for about 2 hours after I wake up :(. This pregnancy is SUCKING!!! I'm so happy to be pregnant and to have this little boy, but man, this is HARD! So much worry, so many appointments, so many complications! I want to enjoy this pregnancy, but I'm really not. :(.

The girls are at my parents for the day. DH has 2 weeks off now, so today is a work day for us. I need to sort, sort, sort clothing and do laundry. But all I want to do is lay in bed. I'll be back when I'm more positive :).

My dear ladies:

Just passing by to say hi. Glad to hear everyone is doing well, and hope no one gets sick again. This week I found out my SIL is pregnant! I guess I'll be buying some onesies for Christmas. This will be my first nephew :) Definitely a new experience. Hopefully it will be a pleasant one for both of us. Our relationship has frequent up and downs but this could be a bonding moment for us.

So, Happy Holidays to all of you! I will check back often to read about all your families and you bellies of course.

Cathy - I understand the whole name and celeb/ famous character thing. I really like the name Ashton... but I'm afraid people would think we were naming him after Ashton Couture (sp?). :(

Aw that's great Jeni! I'm so pleased everything went well and you got to see all those cool things.

My next one is not until the 25th of January so I have a while to go.

And re: names, I may have spoken too soon. I'm not sure about DH's suggestion any more. I remembered that it's the name of a main character in a rather famous film, so I'm sure the poor girl (if it IS a girl) would always be asked if she was named after the film character. I'm not too keen on that idea.

Finished antibiotics. Still coughing. Not sure whether to bother going back to doctor to be told "see, we told you it was viral". Really hope it magically goes away before Christmas but not too optimistic. No carol-singing for me.

On the plus side, we decided on a girl name. Not telling, obviously, but at least we decided!

Just got back from the OB and we have a heartbeat of 152!!! I was so nervous going in today and I'm still nervous about the U/S tomorrow, but I think I'll sleep better tonight.

We're still undecided about finding out the gender. I'm the only one out of the 4 of us that already has a boy and a girl so I'm all set with having rooms ready and having the basics to get started with, so finding out the gender would just be for fun. And if we do find out we wouldn't tell anyone anyway......except for all of you, but everyone else will have to wait until until the babe is here

Yeah I think I have felt flutters at 13-14 weeks with DS, with DD I didn't feel anything until about 16 weeks. I still haven't felt anything with this one, but I think it because the second I get into bed and relax I'm asleep before I have a chance to feel anything!

LOL Jeni! I'm 28 weeks and I have just started to see my belly jiggle when he moves around a lot. The earliest I felt a baby move was about 13-14 weeks - and even then I wasn't sure if it was gas or the baby.

Good to see you back Misty! I hope they give you a Sono... you can always pull the diabetes card to get one?!?

I saw my OB today and he was extremely positive about everything. My bloodwork this month has been great, my ultrasound was perfect and my sugars have been excellent :)... but he's worried about my blood pressure. (something that I've never had to worry about - and it's the last thing we expected to be high this pregnancy). Oh well, I'm just glad that he is growing well. :). We'll deal with the bp if it creeps up.

How is everyone else?
xoxo

that's funy jeni about the drs asking to laugh!! this is the earliest i've felt a baby move, and i started feeling these little flutters at 12ish wks (maybe going into the 13th wk??)... and even then i was skeptical, like, isn't it too early?! to each her own i suppose!
i'm sorry i've been away... i went ot memphis and then had no computer for a while when i got back!
anyway, i was not planning on finding out gender but i've given in. i'm dying ot know. so i have an appt fri and i'll only be 17 wks i think and i want to ask for a sono but doubtful if they'll do it. might have to wait til jan i suppose. grrr..... i really am dying!!!

T'is the season for illness eh? :( Cathy I hope you're feeling better!!!

I see my OB today and Endo Friday. I get the results of my ultrasound today... I think my OB would have already called if there was something wrong, so I'm not worried.

I'll catch up more soon!

I hope these antibiotics really work soon. I am tired of coughing until I pee. The cough IS looser and "more productive" which I hope is a good sign!

Not sure either - we had surprises with the other two and this time I want to know but DH doesn't. He didn't want to come to the 12 week scan, so if he doesn't come to the 20-week I'll ask, and then try (!) to keep it a secret.

Hi Ladies!
I'm getting over the stomach flu - that sucked! My ribs kill from barfing so much! I avoided the hospital for monitoring and fluids (insulin dependence+ barfing + pregnancy = bad!) because my endo trusts me. :).

I had an ultrasound this morning. The sono-lady got the cutest picture of his foot :). I got to see his heart beat and his movements. :)

Not much else new... just complaints lol.

xoxo

How funny! I may have fudged mine a little - I've left up the LMP due date but the scan date puts me at 06/14/11 which pretty much agrees with my ovulation date (week later than LMP date). But as I tend to go early, I left up the earlier date - and it makes me feel better that I'm a week further along!

Talking of which, I can't wait to be *really* feeling better! I dragged my boys along with me to the doctor today because I was feeling so rough. The day did not start well - I had a nightmare about miscarrying (having lots of nightmares involving copious amounts of blood lately, either due to violence or sickness. This was the first that was directly m/c-related). Then I woke up, had a big ol' cough, and triggered a really sharp cramp all across my belly, which took a good 10-15 minutes to subside. Then I just felt "not right", and breathless and wobbly. So I called for an urgent appointment.

The doctor assured me that coughing cannot trigger miscarriage (but HOW do they know that???) but at least I got some antibiotics out of him, so I might at long last be on the way to getting over this cough. Crying in the doctor's office may have helped!

The rest of the day improved gradually. Trip to Tesco with boys (causing dinner to be late) was about as horrible as you would expect - even had a grocery cart with a wonky wheel! But I got home to find a message on the answerphone that my replacement photo of Isaac is ready - one fell off the wall and broke and I LOVE that picture. So that cheered me up! And then we had pizza for dinner so no effort or washing dishes required.

Hi Nance, I was wondering if you were ok. Glad you got some useful info from your endo. Great that your little one is so lively, too! No flutters yet here for me, but it's still early.

Hi Ruthy! Glad to see you checking in here - and OF COURSE you can vent away. I feel sad for you that you've had such a long struggle. Fingers crossed for you that you get your BFP soon.

I got a wonderful bargain yesterday. I was shopping for some bedside lamps since we decorated our guest bedroom this year (it took us most of they year!). I found two matching ones, on sale, reduced by 80%!!!! They have really nice shades, too.

Today we have been staying at home, except DH who went out shovelling snow. I've felt nauseous and tired all day. I thought I was getting over this stage! Ugh! I read a few more chapters of The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe to Isaac, who is gripped but also scared stiff, bless him! I wonder how he's going to react to Aslan dying... GULP!

oh ruthy, i'm so sorry that the ttc has been so hard. i can't say that i know exactly what you're feeling, but i can only imagine how hard it is to want another and not have that yet. {hugs}
yes, these boards are lots slower these days. i'm bored today, and want the mindless chatter!!

cathy, i've BTDT w/ being so annoyed at the boys! part of it is the ages i think and also just the hormones and fatigue. give yourself grace and the boys, too. :) hopefully it's just a rough day and all will be better soon!!

i can't remember if i've said that i finally asked to get on an antidepressant, but i have. it's still sorta soon to tell if it's helping me mentally, but the definite downside is it makes me very tired. not energy-less tired, just want to pass out every day at 3 tired. i'm afraid to take it thurs when i'll be on the road driving for 6+ hrs--i'll already be sleepy enough--don't need any help in that dept! i'm hoping my body levels off soon and all this becomes normal. as i yawn, now, lol...
otherwise i'm feeling fine and generally doing ok.

Cathy, I hope you feel better soon. Hugs for you

My dear girls.. How I wish I could be in this thread with you. In January it will be 3 YEARS of TTC. Or, are we really TTC? If the OB/GYN tells you to take some meds and you don't, does it really count as TTC? Ironically for the past 9 months I've had regular cycles which is good. But then if I'm late emotions start running wild. I actually bed God to please send my period and not give me false hope! Yeah, silly, I know. So I'm a week late, still BFN. Will this be the month? I would love to say yes. Amanda keeps asking for a sibling. Constantly! She wants another girl and to name her Indiana, like where her uncle lives. And then she changed her mind and said she wants a boy and a girl!

Well that's my update. Sorry for the rant. This was not the thread for it.

I was a bit scared when I saw the other thread was "dead". But then got so excited to see where you all were hiding! It's amazing to see how you're doing. I read all your updates and yes, I will be stalking the thread. Lots of hugs to all of you.

I don't want to be around my kids at the moment. I'm not sure if it's due to my pregnancy, or because of how they are acting, or if they are reacting to my mood, or what. BUT Isaac is so distracted and argumentative at the moment. You can't tell him ANYTHING - he thinks he knows better. And if you ask him to do the simplest thing, like get his coat and shoes on ready to go out, it takes half an hour and ends up with me yelling at him for being so slow and playing/messing about instead of doing what he should be doing. And Nathaniel is SOOO clingy and whiney and wants to be picked up and carried around all the time. I can't get anything done! I thought they were supposed to have grown out of that stage by now?

The last couple of nights I have volunteered to wash the dishes so that DH will do bathtime and I can have a few child-free minutes!

On the plus side, this afternoon I wrapped almost all the Christmas gifts I have bought so far. Now I have a clearer idea of what I still need to buy, and I felt all productive and organised for about five minutes!

aw, that's so sweet jeni, that the 24th has such meaning for your family!
i've already told. :) for one, i'm showing a LOT so it would have been pointless to not tell, but i have only one friend here in tx and she's pg so it was fun to share the news, and then w/ friends back home, again, it was just fun to share the news. i think we did it at 8 wks?

i'm ready for the xmas consumerism spirit to go away (yeah, right) but i am so looking forward to teh holidays!!!

i'm going ot memphis this weekend --no kids-- and i'm definitely looking forward to that!!! 4 days hanging out w/ all my lovely friends (minus 12 hrs driving time, lol). gonna be such a rewarded and well-deserved break!

Cathy that is great news!! And the funny thing is I don't feel like telling everyone either. I was going to announce it at Cello's 3rd birthday party in 2 weeks, but now I'm thinking I might just wait until Christmas too. I'll be 14 weeks and I will be having a 3rd scan on the 17th so I think if I can I'll just wait until Christmas Eve. We announced that we were pregnant with Sofia on Christmas Eve, and Cello came home from the hospital on Christmas Eve so that date holds special meaning for us...we also got engaged on Christmas eve 2004!

Enjoy your dinner tonight!

Misty when are you telling or have you already?

Nance are you feeling better?

Hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving and are enjoying the sales (or staying well out of them, whichever you prefer).

My scan yesterday went great! The ONLY slight downside was sitting there for 20 minutes after my appointment time with my legs crossed thinking - pregnant woman, full bladder, come ON!

But it was in the swanky new hospital building which has been open for four whole days, and they have a fancy screen right above the couch so you don't have to crane your neck round to see the sonographer's screen. And I got to hear those wonderful words "we have a live baby!"

Yes, lil bean was in there waving his/her arms and legs around, wriggling and jumping - you could practically SEE him/her thinking "hey, stop prodding me". I'm sure I felt a couple of kicks where the camera was pressing on my tummy, too.

Just one, so my premonition of twins was wrong - which is GOOD. One baby at a time is plenty of work! And live-and kicking, measuring exactly right for dates, and all well. Hooray!

I'm going out for a birthday dinner tonight with some old high school friends (woohoo, night off) and oddly, I don't feel the slightest urge to share our news. I think people are all going to hear in their Christmas cards, if I'm not showing by then.
