NO! I am NOT TTC'ing. Just checking in on my favorite thread.... or what used to be my most frequent thread anyway.

Congrats to the prego's!

As for Endo, I have never been diagnosed with it, but I always thought I had it. It took over 2 years to get prego with Garrett, and then I was TTC'ing for 2 years after that with no luck. I have extremely painful ovulation, and often have excrutiating pain after sex.

I'm not on babyfit that much anymore, but I do often lurk - and I always lurk here. Ruthie, my friend, you are never alone :-)

Misty, I don't have endo, but I have PCOD. I want to respond because I know you've been under a lot of stress in the past couple of months... stress plays a HUGE role in fertility - and well as weight and diabetes. I now know for sure that it was stress that caused our TTC to be so long to conceive Brooke and Amelia. The last 2 times I've gotten pregnant, it has been on the first or second try - because I'm not even half as stressed as I was trying to conceive the other two. :). SO - take a load off... de-stress yourself as much as humanly possible and enjoy that baby making! xoxo

i'm curious if there are any ladies in this thread (lurkers or the regular 4 posters !!) have had an endometriosis diagnosis or suspicion?
i've had cysts (the kind that rupture and hurt a LOT) since i was 16 and when i had a well woman around age 22 i was pre-diagnosed w/ endo, in the sense that we never did laproscopy but my other symptoms checked out w/ endo and they were pretty sure that it could affect my fertility. i wasn't sexually active at the time, and obviously my dh and i got pg fairly easily and then 2 more times rapid-fire and not even planning on it. however, we'd decided after we weaned avery that we might like to try again so that in case we had a 4th baby it would not be much further so that it wouldn't feel like we had 3 close in age then another way down the road. we haven't done any preventing at all, but for about 5 mo we were what i would consider actively trying. it feels like some of my endo symptoms are back and i'm wondering if that is why we might not have gotten pg as quickly as w/ connor and avery. i'm ok for now w/ not getting pg b/cs it buys me time to lose more weight (another possible reason to not have gotten pg?) but it is something i'd at least like to reconsider in the nearer future (end of the year ttc?).
just curious if anyone else has endo related issues?

It's good to see this thread back up to the first page :). A girlfriend of mine from England called me yesterday to tell me that she's finally pregnant.... they have been trying for over 3 years! They were going through IUI and looking into IVF when they decided to stop trying for now and BAM! Pregnant! :)

I'm doing ok. Thanks for asking Ruthy! I'm a bit nervous because my ultrasound says I'm measuring a week later than I thought... which shouldn't be because I knew EXACTLY when I ovulated - and if I ovulated a week later than I thought, the pregnancy test would not have showed positive that early. Anyways. There is nothing I can do but wait. I haven't mentioned that to anyone btw.. I don't know why I haven't, I guess I just don't want to discuss it lol. Like if I close my eyes, the information won't be there anymore lol.

How are you doing Ruth? You should come on and help us keep July 06 alive ;). xoxo

Wow... 4th page!

I'm sorry! I didn't log on again :( Terrible me.
So I guess there's not much to say since it's awfully quiet here.
I had some baby thoughts yesterday, only to find out that a friend of mine got pregnant. Happy? Of course! Still, it reminds me that I'm still here.

How are you holding up Nance?

I've gone through all phases while TTC. But still, how can I not be happy for those who get pregnant? Also, I'm one of those who thinks that because you're preggo does not mean you have to leave the TTC thread.
You're in my prayers.

Nance, I am truly happy for you! With DS I got PG right away - my two are only 16 months apart - and I know others tried for a long time. And I know now how hard it is to go through months of trying and suffering losses, but I am always happy when someone else is blessed. I know God has a plan for us and when it is the right time He will reveal it to us. I will keep you and your little bean in my prayer, Hugs.

Cathy I've had two c-sections and it kills when you try to do things for a few days, but I was so tired that the pain was the least of my worries LOL the worst part was trying to sleep, the pain kept you awake and then when you tried to get up you were stuck because the pain pills had worn off and no matter how you move it is awful. But to get back on topic...

I'm so happy to hear that you are on the mend. August will be here before you know it and you'll be TTCing in no time.

Ruthy at least your getting some good RS, I am beginning to forget what that is like!

Nance when is your test day?

We have FIL coming for a visit right when I should be Oing - luckily he goes to bed at 7pm!!

Hi Ruthy! I haven't said hi to you for a while. I've been avoiding this thread until I got my surgery over with. Just the recovery now. Ow! I am sore. I have a lot of sympathy for everyone who had c-sections now. How are you supposed to get on with caring for a newborn with a big gash in your tummy? Caring for 2 lively boys with 3 little holes is tricky enough! DH has taken them to grandma's today, and Isaac is going to stay there until Monday.

Oops, got a bit OT there. Sorry. We are barred from nookie for 2 weeks post-op and I have a follow-up appointment 10th August, so I suspect we will be TTC in earnest after that!

Hi all...

Hope you're all well. Life, sex life that is, has been weird around here. There were some weeks where we tried some RS most days, and now it's been like a week and nothing. Lord knows... I guess I am still trying, even though I doubt it will happen without meds. Still, gotta enjoy it whenever it happens.

We actually did the deed the other night, but it was a couple of days after I ovulated (good thing since I shouldn't get pregnant just yet, but if I was... I would be thrilled anyway!)

Nance, so glad things are going well for you. Anticipated nookie sounds like it will be a lot of fun! I hope the IVF sticks for your friend too! That would be cool.

I forgot to ask the nurse how long we have to wait until TTC. Maybe I'll call and ask over the phone.

Glad you're having fun! DH and I haven't had any nookie in over a month! Too tired and no interest on my part, plus slight anxiety about the possibility of getting pregnant (miniscule, I would imagine) before getting this darn cyst dealt with. Still, less than a month to go! Can't wait to get back to "normal".

Sorry the binging doesn't work Cathy :(. It worked so well for me that I get heart burn just thinking of chocolate! Your cycle sounds like it really sucks right now Cathy! I've been there - and it's not fun! I hope once you have the appointment on the 20th that you'll get answers and they'll move quickly for you.

My GP put me on effexor yesterday. I don't know yet if it's going to effect when we oficially begin TTCing. DH bought condoms for the first time in YEARS lol. We did have unprotected sex a couple of times last week, but I doubt that I could have gotten pregnant that quickly after a MC and D&C.

During this last pregnancy, part of me was a little sad that we'd never be actively trying to make a baby ever again (because after #3 we are done - or so DH says). It kind of makes me feel guilty that I felt that way. :(. Now we do get to try for another one and I'd do anything to have pregnancy #3 back.

I have been bingeing! Trouble is, it isn't putting me off so I keep doing it! NOT good at all. I just feel permanently PMS-ey at the moment, with associated cravings for sweets and carbs. I'm hoping that it is something to do with this darn cyst and that once it's removed everything will go back to normal. Cos I'm getting mighty tired of 11-day super-heavy periods with a few days off and then 11 days of spotting in between them!

Yes, the appointment is the 20th of this month. Not too long to wait!

Cathy - the sugar thing? What I did was binge on it (along with a lot of wine) after I had my mc... and now I don't want it AT ALL! Maybe you need a day or two of some good old chocolate therapy to get the cravings out of your system?
I'm sorry your clinic appointment got shifted :(. It's the 20th of this month right? I hope the time goes by fast... xoxo

So, I'm back. Or not really yet. But trying to wrap my head around thinking about being back. :) I didn't realize I'd be 'extra fertile' right after my D&C... and we've been intimate because that's really the only way we can communicate right now. Once we learned that I might be extra fertile, DH would not come near me. He wants us to wait the 2 cycles our OBGYN suggested. Plus, I have to see my endo, my family doc, a counselor, and my OBGYN in the next couple of weeks to figure out my body and mind.

Jeni - I'm thinking about you too!
Ruthy - I know this will be an awesome year for you! If you go into life with that attitude, the 'luck' will follow.
Cathy - the countdown is ON! :)

I'm sending tons of hugs your way.

I'm still around. Somehow I feel I'm not really TTC. So whatever.
Will not bring the subject to DH since I know he has a lot of stress, money stress. I am so hoping that my new company takes off soon. But I do feel this will be a great year, not necessarily baby wise, but that things will get better. Maybe after that we can have THE TALK.

Cathy it will be TTC time for you before you know it.

I'm having a bit of a rough patch right now. My baby would have been due in two weeks and Sunday at Church there was a 1 week old baby and as soon as I got to the car I just started crying, so I know the next couple of weeks are going to be a struggle. On the bright side my chiropractor is doing wonders with me!!

I'm doing ok except I have a cold and cough. Both kids have had it and they do love to share their germs!

I got my gynae appointment through for the beginning of April, and from then it will likely be about six weeks more until I have surgery, so mid-end May. I guess we may start trying in June or July.

I can't wait to be pg again! Having 11-day super-heavy periods absolutely SUCKS!

I've read on the boards that acupuncture is supposed to be good. I hope it works for you!

Nance I've been there with the potty training, Sofia is still stubborn about pooping on the potty. I found the only thing that worked for her was the reward system! When I finally made the potty chart and bought in different kinds of stickers (hearts for pee and happy faces for poop) did she really get into it. it took about 3 days of wet training pants - no pull ups - and she was completely peeing on the potty. She got a sticker and a treat (1 starburst candy) each time she peed and I set a timer to make her go every 20 minutes until she got it. The 20 minute thing lasted 1 day then she go so fed up of the interruptions that she just started going on her own, the second day we went to 40 minutes and on the 3rd day she was on her own. Also the first time she went all day without an accident she got a present and a huge fuss made over her and that was all it took - before that it was fighting and refusing to go, but I think strong willed kids are just harder but catch on quickly. Good luck and Amelia will be easier because she will follow Brooke!

See your TTCing is the opposite of me the first two were so easy, said let get PG and boom I was knocked up! now for almost 2 years we've had a hard time and 3 losses, I'm hoping that 2010 is a better year.

Well Ruthy it looks like it's just the two of us!

Nance, Marcello is a little sweetheart! If I could I would have 20 of him, he is so easy going loves to cuddle with Mama, sleeps 14 hours a night, eats everything and anything, hugs you and tells you he loves you at least once an hour, always says "you pretty mama" when I wake up, says "gad bless, gad bless" when anyone sneezes and loves to help me around the house. He is such a little boy though, loves cars, trucks, trains etc....it's funny I never thought I wanted a boy until I had him and the second he was here I was firmly wrapped around his little finger LOL! Check out my babypage I have a bunch of new pictures of him on there - his eyes and smile just melt my heart! LOL can't tell that I a proud Mama can you hehehe

Will Brooke be starting JK in September?

Molly, I'm hoping for pink for you too :)... although you may want to check out my facebook status before you wish too much for a girl hehe. So I totally understand Jeni's statement about Sofia lol. BTW Jeni - Marcello sounds adorable lol!

So, I've joined the biggest loser here... and I'm thinking I'll stay on even if I am pregnant. Not necessarily to lose weight, but to stay on the diabetic diet. If I am pregnant, I'll have to be on that diet anyway - right? :) After I had Amelia, I was 128 lbs! Now I'm 149 and she's not even a year old! So, I began the diet today. And today I'm going out to buy the pregnancy test once Amelia wakes up. I think I'll take it tomorrow am.

You're welcome Molly, I'm teaching the kids to say their prayers everyday so we keep a list of everyone we are praying for...but for some reason Marcello keeps praying for cookies when it's his turn to add someone, well cookies and his Woody doll from Toy Story!!! :)

And just think in about 14 weeks you can find out what your having!!

I'm leaning towards blue when I get PG again, I love Sofia but I don't think we could handle another girl *LOL* if the things she does now is any sign of what she will be like as a teenager I will be shipping her off to the convent at 12!!! LOL

I'm sorry you didn't get any answers Jeni. I hope you get it figured out, and a sticky baby comes this spring for you!

I just posted, but my numbers were in the 4000s today after being 1607 on Friday! Looks like this one's staying put!

Nancy I hope the girls are feeling better and that you'll be getting your BFP this week.

Molly I've been including you in my daily prayers for a happy and healthy 9 months. When will you get your second HCG results back?

Well as for me they know it's not my spleen and the rash is "of unknown origin", but it's possible that it could be from my food allergies. As for the other tests I have to go back again - some screw up at the lab and now I have to go and have the tests again. The problem is finding time to get there! So our TTCing might be put on hold to the spring, I don't want to have another December baby so we will likely wait until May to start again.

I'm sorry the girls got sick Nancy! I hope they're better quickly.

I'll cross my fingers that if you are pregnant that you've already become immune to fifths. What bad timing.

How you doing Jeni???

I'm starting to feel pregnant, I've lost my appetite most of the time, except at night. With my numbers on Friday I'm feeling pretty good, but I can't wait to know the number for tomorrow.

Congratulations Molly, lots of sticky dust and prayers for you!

Veronica, Thank you! I have my fingers crossed that it's something that simple, today I have a bright red rash right on the front of my throat - like its right over where my thyroid is about 3 inches by 3 inches almost perfectly round. Hopefully the Dr will give me some answers tomorrow!!

woohoo!!!

stick baby dust to you Molly!

Jeni, hope it's something easy like thyroid that you can just take a pill for. so not fun to deal with doctors sometimes.

Molly and Nancy I hope you both get your BFP's this month!!

I'm hoping to get a bunch of tests out of the way this month and hopefully get back to TTCing soon. I'm either having gallbladder, kidney or thyroid issues or a combination of these. Hopefully it's nothing else and can get sorted quickly, I'm just so tired of Dr's that aren't keeping on top of things!

Tuesday if I can hold out. But I'm not sure if I'll be able to believe a BFN definitively off one test....never have been able too...but it's fairly important to get off the progesterone if I'm not pregnant, you know, so I can cycle again!

I'm so hopeful. I think I'm fairly fertile, just not maintaining a pregnancy well at the moment without help.

And hopefully in two weeks you'll be pregnant too!!! Fingers crossed for you!

That's awesome Nancy! You guys have really been having fun lately ;)

I'm waiting to test. I think I can test Tuesday. I am supposed to take the progesterone 15 nights (DPO), then test, and go from there. I'm on day 12 right now (CD29?) so I probably could test, but I'm holding out. Cross your fingers this is the month! I realized the other day that I've been pregnant part of every year since 2005...this would be the last chance to make that true still :P

I'm glad you had a good appointment Molly! I'm thinking that since she flaked on you last month and feels badly (as she should!), she'll take extra care of you from now on (as she should!) and cross her t's and dot her i's personally.

My girlfriend who just went through IVF started spotting Tuesday. We were supposed to bake cookies together today, but she's not up to it :(. She goes for bloodwork Saturday, but may go earlier if she spots more. I haven't heard from her since yesterday afternoon - so I'm starting to fear the worst.

I started the clomid today. I'm still quite teary from my period and 'PMS'... so I'm guessing this month I'll just be a basket case. lol

I had a really good appointment today. Really, I did. My heart was thudding in my chest the whole time, and I was kind of uncomfortable because, well, who wants to go talk about their miscarriage in detail???

So the big issue, the prescription I never got. She didn't remember off the top of her head our phone conversation about the progesterone for last month, but frankly that doesn't concern me. Who remembers in detail every phone call they make at the end of a long day at work (she called me back at home at 7 at night)? After I told her that she had prescribed it, and it was in my chart, but I had never been called and it had never been called in, her face and disposition visibly dropped. She was clearly shocked and upset by this. She went on to apologized profusely saying that no matter who she passed that job down to, it's her fault that it didn't follow through. I thanked her for that, but couldn't bring myself to say "it's okay," which she clearly wanted. She did admit that it might have helped.

She thinks that my body is kind of messed up hormonally, specifically because I go more than a year without a period after birth. We've done thyroid tests in the past that have come back normal, but she wants to keep an eye on that in my future because she doesn't think my body is reacting 100% right hormonally. Hence the need for progesterone to sustain a pregnancy. She said the nursing could play a part, but she wasn't really concerned about it considering that we're down to 3x daily. I told her about my weird period in October, and she agreed, it was probably another chemical pregnancy. She even recorded the dates of that to keep on record.

So, I am on a mild dose of progesterone vaginally for this month, for 15 days after ovulation. If I am pregnant, I will continue if until 14 weeks pregnant. If I am not, I stop taking it, have a period, and then we will start again, but with a stronger progesterone. She's hopeful it will happen right away for me. The first med will probably be covered by prescription, the second will not. BUT, I asked about whether it would be covered once I got pregnant (since then it become necessary) and she thought it would be as long as she well documented my need. Oh, and the fact that I used progesterone cream to conceive Calvin was both significant, and yet confirming that I probably will do fine on the lower dose.

I honestly was shocked I didn't leave with a hug or an arm squeeze at least, but I think she was quite upset by the missing prescription and was afraid I wouldn't want it. But she really did make me feel a lot better.

And Nancy, you're totally right, if she flakes again (or her nurse, whoever it was that messed up...either way her practice) I can always use my Dr. I almost would like to see what it's like to deliver with him, but I won't do it unless I feel a need.

Sorry I got so long!

Be strong Molly :). If you do decide to go back with her and she flakes, you don't have to stay with her - right? Your family doc will be there if you need/ want him - right?

Well, I called my OBGYN today and talked with his secretary (she is awesome too - but not as cute though lol). She said that since my period came, I should do another 2 months of clomid. If my period doesn't come by day 40, they do a blood test and if it's negative, then they'll give me a script to induce my period and we'll keep going with the clomid. I didn't end up going to the docs today because I'm feeling a bit better - no waves of cramping :).

Ruthy - I'm sorry about AF :(. 2 years of trying has to be hard :(.

Aw Nancy! I wish you AF was a little nicer to you! She's been a B$@%^ lately hasn't she? I hope you feel better soon!

I see my midwife in two days. I am planning to go in there strong...but who knows...I may turn to mush at her motherly ways. We'll see. I plan to pretty much tell her that we are starting to TTC right away unless she can prove we shouldn't, because my research says there's no reason not to. We will hopefully finally get the progesterone script, but if she won't give it, I will use the cream this month instead.

I will decided on who will do my OB after that appointment. I am afraid her nice demeanor will get me to forgive right away, and I'll go back to her.

Oh wow. I hope they figure it out soon. That's no fun at all.

So just a quick update. AF arrived. Yes, I am bummed. Yes, I am upset. Yes, I want to cry. And why couldn't she show up BEFORE I used a test?
Next month it will be 2 years TTC. Time does fly.

Have a great week everyone.

That is exciting Ruthy! I hope your lo knows something you don't ;). It's nice to hear from you and get an update on what is going on.

It's CD 2 here now - my cycle was 37 days long last month, so I have to go back to my OBGYN to increase the dose of Clomid. I'm having a lot of abdominal pain that comes in waves. I almost passed out this morning in the bathroom. I'm also wearing Brooke's diapers like a pad because the flow is so heavy - not nice, and I may need a trip into the ER today. I hate going into the ER. HATE IT! But there is obviously something wrong. This sucks.

I'm back to say hi! And still trying.

But since it's been a while I will try to entertain you a bit with what's going on in my life. it's a story about hope, gas, TTC, and wedding planning. Not necessarily in that order.

I'm back into wedding planning. After being emotionally tortured (by myself) I left my business partner 4 months ago. Took a forced break and started a blog about weddings. It was my way of staying among weddings without spending money. Although we all know that time is money, but you get the point. So a few ago we decided I should start by my own and am now starting to slooooowly promote it while continuing to blog. Crossing my fingers (but not my legs) and being confident and hopeful that 2010 will be awesome for everyone. In part because of this I told hubby that starting in December we would be using protection for about 3 months until we had a better idea of how the business would start off and decide what to do with baby #2. So we left it at that and am still anxiously waiting for the first call of a bride.

Last Tuesday I was on the phone with a friend and Amanda was playing. She now enjoys the pantry for some reason and I find dolls "sleeping" there. She came to me, touch my abdomen and said: "you have a baby there". You can imagine my face
For a lot of reasons. We haven't talked about this. No one we know is pregnant. Plus (I know this is stupid) but I don't explain a lot about being pregnant because I am scared she might see a large person and say out loud that she has a baby when it's just that the person is large. After a few seconds :WHAT DID YOU SAY?! And she got scared, like she said something she shouldn't. Until she responded... nothing, that you have a baby inside. So there goes some more hope.

fertility friend had Af arriving on Thursday, and in the afternoon I had a lot of pain, which i thought were cramps. But nothing. Eventually my belly got huge, like 3-4 months pregnant. Before I even got preggo with Amanda this happened to me frequently. I figured it was gas, and is pretty painful. Sort of like when you get gas after a C-section. Tested on Friday, got a negative. And that's were I stand. Nervous. Trying to not feel hopeful but at the same time I tell myself that it could be a message that mini-me randomly said that.

I will let you all know as soon as I get a definite answer. Hugs and Happy Holidays!

CD 30 - BFN. I'm ok with that right now considering everything that is going on with my friends... Molly and Cathy - I've been thinking about you two lots lately. I also have a good friend who just went through IVF - she'll find out if there is a heart beat Dec 24.

Still the same. I can mostly go without a pantyliner, or anything, it' just there when I wipe. But it's pretty much always there. I'd have more faith that it was IB if this wasn't exactly how my last two AF started. We shall see...

Yeah for your DH hoping on board last night. Hee hee....no pun intended...okay maybe it was.

How's the spotting Molly?

Things went well last night... DH came to bed and said "we should do it if we want to try to hit the target this month" lol... so, I didn't even need to entice him - but I did go to bed naked lol :) It's CD 18 here - so we have to BD every other day until CD 23 - then we wait until CD 35. I find it funny that this is our first REAL month of trying (because of the clomid) and it's already turning scientific instead of romantic lol.

Didn't get any last night. DH's work is crazy right now... makes it hard for him to think with the other head if you know what I mean ;). I've got to do something tonight to get him in the mood... any ideas? I don't have anything sexy to but on :(.

I had spotting start today. We shall see if AF finally came (on CD 50!) of if the clearly EWCM a little over a week ago is now at the implantation stage. We should know in a few days. I tested within a week of IB with Cal, otherwise I should be in full AF mode by then.

I hope you got it Nancy! I have to admit, I get a tad jealous when others get pregnant now, but you are one of the ones who I would love to see beat me. Good luck!

Hi ladies, NO I'm NOT TTC but I like to read this thread and see how everyone is doing.
When I TTC with LO, I was at my wits end and gave up. The day I found out was the day my first fertility appt was. (I gave up about 2 mths prior). I think the lack of stress and the lack of trying helped. I was 8 months in trying.
I wish you all the best of luck and all the baby dust I can send is all coming your way!

Hey girls!
Just dropping by to say hi.
Hope everyone is doing well. We are still "trying", whatever that means. I really believe that we need meds, like REALLY! So if it doesn't happen this month, i will suggest we stop "trying" for 2 months, wait to see what happens. In the next month or so I will have a lot on my plate and it might be nice to see how life takes us and then hopefully get the treatment.
So much for our kids being 1 1/2 years apart! it looks like 4 1/2 if we're lucky!

Yes, that does make sense! I'm finding that Brooke is now getting to such a nice age... I can imagine that if we didn't already have Amelia, I'd feel the same way. I know many well adjusted only children who are happy, have lots of friends and have great relationships with their parents. :)
