I would just do what she wishes. My brother got married last year and I was gratefully a part of it, but the bride was alittle over the top in the way we had to do things. They were getting married in NY, they lived in FL, I am in TX, 2 other bridesmaids were in other parts of NY, talk about stressful, so I just gave in and did not offer my suggestions and did what she wanted. While the others fought her on the $$ and dicisions. Later, after the wedding, she actually thanked me for not questioning her ways, so that put her back in my good graces!!

I have been in weddings where it was both ways! My SIL wanted the 'perfect' wedding look..so she wanted us all with updo's. My other SIL did a very non-tradit wedding and had her hair down...so she wanted everone elses hair up, so hers would stand out!
I didn't even think about anyone's hair for my wedding...no one looks at their hair anyway!!! (except their mothers and husbands!!)
But as the saying goes 'it's the brides day, best do as the bride say'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That doesn't sound too horribly out of place to me. I have been in other weddings (and for my own) where people have requested that the bridesmaids get a certain type of hairdo, but they can choose the particulars. For instance in my wedding it was more of a formal event, so we asked that all of the bridesmaids get updos. They could choose exactly what they wanted done as long as it was up. There are definitely worse things that she could be controlling over...

I am about to chop my hair, I just don't understand some of her things, like they can't even set a date until her BF gets back from a deployment and we will have like 2-3 weeks to get our plane tickets which really sucks because we live in Hawaii, it's already expensive enough to fly. But she is here too, but her wedding is Tennessee. This thing is going to cost us an arm and a leg and it's not even my wedding. I wish in some ways they would have stuck with their JP idea and we could have been their witnesses. But I know every girl wants a nice wedding, I know I did.

I think it depends a lot on the bride. I would just go along with it. It will be easier. You don't want her to think that her wedding day was perfect except my sister wore her hair up. Something strange happens to some women befor they get married. Ever seen that show bridezilla? Your sister's wedding request will seem pale in comparison to some of the women on that show.

I think some brides are more, let's say opinionated, than others. i didn't care what anyone wore, but i've heard of somebrides who have specific requests for every last detail of what their bridesmaids wear and do.

Okay I had a pretty non-traditional wedding and I am not sure if I am just being dumb or not. But my sister is going to be getting married in March and I am super excited, but do brides actually request how their bridesmaids get their hair done? My sister was saying that since she will be having an updo most likeley she does not want any of her girls wearing all their hair up. I know it is her wedding but I remember getting my girls opinions on everything. And I surely didn't tell them how they could or could not do their hair. Am I just out of the wedding ediquet(sp) loop?
